Battlefield deletes itself after "this account is restricted from online access"

Has anyone else had Battlefield 1, 3, 4, 5 and 2042 delete themselves all at the same time?

2 nights ago, I was playing through "War Stories" and was signed in online. I started getting sleepy, so I back out to the main menu, closed the lid on my laptop and went to sleep. When I woke up the next morning, I was going to play some more. I opened the lid and everything resumed as normal, except I was no longer online in the game. I pressed the "Go Online" button, and was going to finish getting all of the collectibles in War Stories and was immediately greeted by a message saying "This account has been restricted from online access". tried a few more time with no luck. Restarted my computer, and EVERY SINGLE BATTLEFIELD GAME WAS GONE. I got them through Gamepass on the Xbox App, and I though that my subscription had expired. It hadn't. Then I realized that the games don't delete themselves just because your subscription expired. Surely I didnt get banned from closing the lid on my laptop and not closing the game entirely while it was sitting online at the main menu. There's nothing else on this coimputer except Windows 11 and my games because I just formatted and installed my new SSDs.

The only proof I have that I had ANY Battlefield games EVER installed on my computer, was because I had BF5 installed to a secondary HDD in my computer. Everything was on C: and BF5 was on F: and the EA app was looking for the games in the C: folder. I checked the C: folder and it was indeed empty and the used up space had been restored so 1, 3, 4 and 2042 were definitely GONE. BF5 was still on my F: drive, as the EA App hadn't checked there and was set to look in C:\Ea Games or whatever the default path is. So I changed the EA Client to look at the F:\ EA Games, but BEFORE I did that, I copied the entire BF5 folder to another location. I restarted the EA app after i copied the BF5 folder and set the app to look at F:\EA Games, and sure enough, it deleted BF5 as well. This time, I watched it happen. I had the F:\EA Games folder open and the BF5 folder just disappeared. I didn't record it but now I'm wishing that I did.

So i come up with the idea to reinstall the EA app, then set it to look at F:\EA Games again, and then leave the app open, copy the backed up BF5 folder back to where it originally was, and copy it again to C:\EA Games......the app no longer deletes the game, but it no longer recognizes it either. At either location. I think I may have also had these games on my original account and then remembered thaat EA won't let me in, because I tried logging to the website from my phone and that was apparently suspicious activity.

The best part is....I've been going back and forth with EA for like 3 months now, trying to get back into my original account, where I had purchased several other games like Farcry 6, and they won't let me back in. Seriously.....I deleted the original email account that I had registered (yahoo email account) and had forgotten that it was tied to my EA account. That email address is now gone, but I can bypass the client and use their own website to get in to the account because it was linked to my Playstation account as well. So i click the Playstation button addn it logs me in. Then I took pictures of everything on my account so that I could try to prove that it is REALLY ME. I contacted EA Support using their website and following the instructions for "I don't have access to this email account anymore" and it's just a loop that brings you right back to the original page. Then, I managed to get some kind of support and it's apaprently just some AI bot with ZERO comprehension. It understood that I don't have that email address anymore and said that they would email me a verification link and that I would need to click that link and it would allow me to change the old email address to my new email address. I said ok cool, here is my new email address.....guess where it keeps sending the verification link to.....THE OLD EMAIL ADDRESS THAT DOES NOT EXIST. If i had access to that email address i wouldnt need support! I said I can tell you when I opened the account, I can give you the username and password, other accounts that it is linked to, the phone number, my driver's license, every single game that is on that account and NONE of that is good enough. Then it finally says " we are unable to assist you UNLESS you click the verification link.............the verification link that we sent to an email address that NO LONGER EXISTS.....if that is the solution, then remove that option all together! Am I really the only one that sees a problem with that?

So, I'm guessing I'm just screwed and have to puchase all of my games AGAIN?!?!? I think not. All the hours, all the money spent, all the hard work, gone. there is even a support option for

"I dont have access to this email address anymore" and the solution is to send a verification email to an email address that no longer exists and then expect you to click it? HOW? that's a physical impossibility. It's almost impossible to speak to an actual person at EA. No response or twitter, BS emails with bots.....surely SOMETHING can be done

  • Hi @Nataur This sounds to me like a situation which EA Help need to resolve, since it seems to involve your account (N.B. account issues cannot be resolved here as nobody can access your game account).

If you have not already, try a live chat as you should be able to explain your issue in real-time with an agent (EA do not use chat bots, they're real people). The steps below should make the option appear on help.ea.com:

    - Search for and select "The EA App" from the game list.
    - Choose the "I need help logging in to my EA Account".
    - The live chat option should appear about halfway down the page.

Bear in mind that if they are not available to verify you through a link or by asking the KYC questions, they will not be able to assist you with accessing an account for security reasons.
