Battlefield V not saving progress

I've seen many posts about this on here, on steam, on youtube and other blog posts.

There have been so many different suggestions to try, but is clear some solutions will work for one person and not another.

BFV will not save progress.

I am playing on PC, downloaded the EA app, but purchased EA Play via steam.

Every time I quit and reopen the game, none of my progress is saved and I have to run through the entire calibrate brightness process and run through the opening game play.

Here is what I have tried.

1. Rename the PROFSAVE_tmp file to PROFSAVE - this resolved the issue of my settings not saving, but after trying it the cut scene was skipped and I was brought straight to the home screen but not marked as completed.

2. Unlink OneDrive - I see this has worked for some but not for me. I also don't see how this could be a solution as many would need to the drive to be linked so they can back up data. Unlinking this just to play BFV is ridiculous.

3. Controlled folder access - the solution here is to add the BFV.exe file and another file to this list, or just turn the feature off. Mine has always been off.

4. Run EA/BFV app as administrator - didn't work.

5. Reinstall - nope

6. Repair game via EA app - this option isn't available for the game in the app. Maybe because I downloaded via steam.

These are the main solutions that I keep seeing repeated, none are appearing to be legit fixes, there are other random ones out there too that don't have much explanation as to whether they were actually the cause/fix.

It seems nuts to me that this game is over 6 years old and people are still complaining about it with no easy solution.

Anything BFV related you might want to post to the BFV forum so others who might have the same BFV issue can pick something up from your post. This is the BF1 forum.

    Happy gaming

@739f1bbfc204936f Found another suggestion which didn't work

-go to the bottom left where your internet is
-right click on it and click on "open internet and network settings"
-then click on change connection properties
    -change it to private.
