it randomly started to work again...
Same experience, also stopped working for me. I've tried everything I can think of. Also contacted EA, and after 2 hours, still no progress. They told me they would email an additional list of suggestions and I never received anything, Really disappointing because nothing on my system, router or profile changed.

when I had the same problem some time ago.
what I did was a full restart on my router.
and it did help me.

Restart modem, turn off PS4 for a few minutes. Restart. Works.

I also have this problem but the worst part is that I can still play BF 1 it's like ea rather wants me to play their old game
@MattTheBrat82not that I remember aside from my default of rebooting the PS4 and running network diags on the ps4. From PC all ping tests and speed tests were fine (not specifically to EA servers). I think in reality it is just something about one of the newer updates to BFV. For approx 2 months at one point, when opening BFV, I was not automatically connected to EA. Prior it would ALWAYS connect automatically.
I suppose you could ping EA servers (assume they give the fqdn for them) but I never checked.
Also my nat has always been "2" . Good luck
