Battlefield V Won't Launch, Stuck In A FIle Validation Loop That Does Nothing.

I've been trying to launch Battlefield V for the past 18 hours. Every time I do, a message appears from origin that says "Preparing Game". The message disappears and steam validates the files. After roughly a minute or two of that, the green "play" button appears again.

Every time I try to start the game, it starts the same loop over and over, nothing happens, and I'm still stuck at the loading screen. Manually validating the files does nothing, repairing the ea app doesn't do anything, which was what people where suggesting for battlefield 2042's validating loop issue. Reinstalling Battlefield V did nothing other than waste 5 hours of my time, Clearing the download cache of both steam and ea desktop did nothing.

Nothing I'm doing seems to be working, it almost certainly has to be an ea app issue because the game won't start without it. The app will run momentarily, then stop completely while steam validates the files, which does nothing.

So, if anyone has had this issue and has a solution not mentioned here, I'd love to hear it. Because this is ridiculous.

    @mockingmjayCan you please help me with the registry values because I need to manually add them. I have been stuck in a validating loop since forever.

    @DadBodActual Thank you so much, haven't been able to play the game for about a month since purchased. Your solution works wonders.

    Can you help me with the default Battlefield V regedit values, because I don't have the Battlefield V folder entry in the registry and I want to manually add it.

    @DadBodActual Do you appear to have another way to fix it ? Because my EA Games folder, does not have Battlefield V folder inside of it.
  • Hi There! This really needs to be fixed between Steam and EA with connections to their 3rd party app, but do the following:

    1. Type "RegEdit" on your search bar (without the quotation marks, obviously);
    2. Open "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE";
    3. Open "SOFTWARE";
    4. Locate and open the "EA Games" folder;
    5. Open the Battlefield V folder;
    6. At this point you should have some register entries on the right side, one of them is the "Install Dir", double click on it;
    7. Now you just need to paste the path where your Battlefield V is installed, seems like the EA App is not able to map that directory for itself;
    8. Close the Register Editor and it should do the trick.
