I wouldn't say it's dead nor unplayable. I play it on PC most days and have an awesome time for the most part; I have good games and bad games and only come across the odd cheat here n there but it's certainly not unplayable.
One thing I have noticed in matches is the amount of people shouting cheat when there are clearly no cheats at the time, I think some people fail to realize you can shoot through many walls, doors, foliage and easily blind fire through smoke and get kills.
All I will say if you encounter a cheat is to sit back and let the game end, then find a new match; that's all I do if the cheat doesn't leave next round.
