BF5 Crash - Drives/files error detected. Some files might be corrupted.

Hello, I'm having the following error, I've uninstalled and installed the game, I've reinstalled the origin, I've formatted the computer and the error persists, I don't know what to do, sometimes the game doesn't even start and when it starts it takes a few minutes to crash screen.

A few steps to take on this:

    1. Right click your game in Origin and then Repair
    2. Run System File Checker to ensure the integrity of your Windows System files: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833
    3. Run Chkdsk to check the rest of the files on your drive: LINK
    4. Backup any important files from that drive in case it stops functioning

    Thanks.

  • Did you fix it? This just started happening to me. Playing yesterday, now it doesn't work.

Game loads to the "weekly missions" screen and immediately hangs.

    Reinstalled nvidia driver

Did a "repair" on the game although all that does is verify the files.

    chkdsk, no issues.

    system file checker: no issues

sfc /scannow: repaired something.Turns out it was just some double homed folders.

    Uninstalled Nvidia drivers.

    Uninstalled origin.

Noticed that my "documents" folder had an origin subfolder and the whole drive (separate from C🙂 was inaccessible. This is a pet peeve of mine. I put all my games on an SSD and my documents on a spindle and even with all of the right settings, Origin insists on touching that spindle drive to get to that documents origin folder. Tell me, what's the damn point of that? I notice this because that spindle drive gets pegged when I start up BFV. Crazy, and very stupid.

    Scanning/repairing that drive now.

So, this is the second time this has happened to 2 different drives. Something in BFV hoses up the drive and it becomes flaky. I can get the other data off of the drive, but the origin folder in documents has corruption. I ended up repairing the drive and it worked. Moved my documents folder to an SSD to try there.

  • This is on the older side of time, I'm closing this thread to stop it from being necroed.
