BFV: server terminates session at exactly 5 min while client still sends

Hello,

Every multiplayer match ends after roughly 3-5 minutes with

"Connection to the EA servers has been lost", and I am returned to the

main menu. Neither bfv.exe nor the anti-cheat process crashes.

Rejoining from inside the game drops even faster (1-2 minutes).

This reproduces 100% of the time.

I captured the traffic with Windows' built-in pktmon (no third-party

tools) to find out where it actually breaks.

--- Capture details ---

Capture window : 2026-10-11 23:46:11 - 23:55:17

Game server : 5.60.131.225:15443 <-> 192.168.5.46:19214 (UDP)

Session window : 23:50:11.546 - 23:55:12.668

= exactly 5 min 01 s

--- Last 2 seconds, per-50ms packet counters ---

offset client -> server server -> client

+1750 ms 7 8

+1800 ms 7 8

+1850 ms 7 5

+1900 ms 7 0 <-- server stops first

+1950 ms 7 3 <-- client still sending

--- What this shows ---

1. The client's upload stream is steady right up to the final packet:

no loss, no gaps, no silence period. Local network, router, ONT,

ISP and Wi-Fi are all ruled out.

2. There is no silence period before the drop, so a NAT mapping

timeout is ruled out.

3. The server stopped responding first; the client kept sending for

about 100 ms afterwards. This is a server-initiated session

termination, not a client-side or network-side failure.

4. The session length is exactly 5 min 01 s, which looks like a timer

rather than a random failure.

--- Already ruled out (each tested separately, no effect) ---

- Different networks: home Wi-Fi and a phone 4G hotspot, identical result

- Antivirus uninstalled

- WinRing0 kernel driver stopped

- Memory Integrity (HVCI) disabled

- Winsock and TCP/IP stack reset

- EA App reinstalled

- All third-party network filter drivers stopped

--- Environment ---

OS : Windows 11 (Build 26100)

Anti-cheat : EAAntiCheatInstaller 1.0.15918775 (EA Javelin)

Game ver : v-1.0.78.11385

Region : Hong Kong (store currency HKD)

I could play normally about six months ago. The problem appeared after

Battlefield V switched to the EA Javelin anti-cheat.

Attached: the last 30 seconds of the capture, sanitized (all MAC

addresses removed, only the game server flow kept). Full capture

available on request. Suggested Wireshark filter: udp.port == 15443

Any help would be appreciated. If this is anti-cheat related, please

forward it to the anti-cheat team.

I never had to deal with this issue myself so I can't be of much help, but since nobody more knowledgeable has replied yet, here are my two cents:

As far as I know the game servers regularly try to communicate with the anti-cheat client on your PC. If this communication fails, your connection is terminated for obvious security reasons.

Maybe this is what's happening to you. Have you tried to reinstall the anti-cheat? If you own other Battlefield games protected by Javelin (BF1, BF2042, BF6), are you able to play them or do they also disconnect?

By the way, minor detail but the game has been using Javelin for two years now. Originally it was called "EA Anti-Cheat", then last year they rebranded it. If your issue is actually tied to the anti-cheat and it only started six months ago, then it was probably due to something changed with an update, rather than the anti-cheat's existence as a whole.

  • I am having issues with server performance on Battlefield v, xbox.
