Breakthrough

When playing battlefield v, breakthrough. How do you switch teams?  I've just seen a player switch teams, every game for 5 games. He's always on the attacking team. Good player, yes, but makes the game unplayable because of team balance issues. Is this a cheat?a glitch? Or just something I don't know how to do?

  • Hi @funkycraig1212 If you're on Xbox then you can do it through the scoreboard basically, but if you're on other platforms then you need a friend on the other team or quit and rejoin until you're on the side you want.

The ability to switch teams was never build in to the actual game for some reason.  You have to either do it through joining someone else's game through Xbox Live via the scoreboard or by joining on a friend on your friends list on Playstation or the Origin friends list on PC.

@BeneffitTeam-switching was (and probably still are) abused in BF1 and was therefore removed from the game.

In BF1 many switched to the winning team to avoid losses or getting wrecked. This just made balance issues worse (and balance in BF1, is as bad as in BFV).

@cso7777  At least Battlefield 1 puts even numbers of players on its teams.  In BFV it's a common thing to be on a server that is 32 vs 10 and no way to even out the teams.

Play the community games, it's so much better. Find a full server with your lowest ping, queue up and you're good to go. If the population drops after the match then find a fresh server.
That's what I do all the time and It's very rare the teams are not balanced in terms of numbers for me.

@Beneffit This happens in BF1 as well. But I still agree the balancer in BFV is even worse than the one in BF1.

BF1 at least mixed teams up a little between rounds, but it was still very sketchy.

Balance has never been perfect in BF, but BFV took things to a new low.
