@r43er45trBattlefield is not a MilSim and has never been. There is a good reason for giving a sniper different damage per bullet, than a mounted MG has. This is how a game like Battlefield gets balanced. Even after launch the values of damage, firerate, damagedropoff and so on are often changed to balance the different classes and weapons better. Even some weapons of the same class and using the same ammunition do have different values, otherwise the weapons would all feel very much the same.
If you are looking for a very realistic shooter, Battlefield is probably not your case. Maybe someone else here has any suggestions for you. 🙂
On a side note: if you do hit all your shots with a LMG especially headshots, you will defenetly kill someone faster, than you will be able to with a sniper rifle and two body shots.

@N4v1s You do understand how a bullet works after making contact with a human right, it shatters bones tears muscles, if I shoot you three times in the chest regardless of gun before you're one headshot with any gun you'd be dead before thinking about it, ww2 soldiers didn't have the greatest of gear they had t shirts and a over coat with a basic metal Helmut

@r43er45tr Not only do I understand that, I know these things quiet well. But I just can repeat myself here: Battlefield is no MilSim Shooter. It never has been and I'm pretty sure it never will be. 🙂
If you are looking for that type of game, you will have to look somewhere else. Battlefield focuses on balanced game play and not realism. 🙂

@N4v1s theres no balance the guns are completely unbalanced I have head shot markers going off constantly still takes more than one with a lmg than with any single or bolt action, not balanced accept the fact that a higher fire rate with the same caliber is just going to have the same damage just fire faster, it has nothing to do with milsim it's just a large lack of respect for those who served an unfortunately died, because they didn't get a balanced weapon damage, explain how you can hit someone with a direct shot from a anti tank grenade launcher and it only comes up as 65 damage? It's supposed to destroy tank armor and tracks but can't blow a person up. Sorry that is straight unbalanced.

@r43er45tr I do respect those who served in war. But if this is actually your point of view you should not be playing any war game at all, no matter how realistic it is.
In my opinion the weapon balancing on BFV is done really well. If you are struggling with the lmgs just give them a little more time. Weapons like the Bren Gun and the Lewis gun are super powerful in the game and I go head to head with snipers on long range all the time.
Considering the AT weapon damage vs infantry, that's a balancing act as well. Those weapons are supposed to be used against vehicles and not as a cheap one shot kill weapon an infantry. Just a couple weeks ago a patch did nerf the damage of a couple other explosive weapons to remove their one shot kill potential. This patch was really well received from the community.
I don't know what else to tell you. I understand that everybody has a different point of view on how a game is supposed to play out, but if you have played any BF titles before, your know how this one works. 🙂
I just can repeat: if this bothers you so much try out some other games like EFT. This might suit you better. 🙂

@N4v1s How is something cheap if that's how it works? An explosive is an explosive just nerfing everything except two or three weapons is the exact problem that your highlighting. Just accept the fact they can't expose children to the truth of war and weapons so they need everything to keep sales and servers full

I think this post is getting a little off topic -- games are meant to be fun and balanced; most of the time teams need to sacrifice authenticity to make this happen and that's why different guns deal different damage.
It doesn't have to make sense; it is what it is

Weapon balance is always a fun topic of discussion, difficult to perfect with the constant addition of new weapons and how players use them in a live environment. One thing that should always be taken into consideration is how well weapons act by an individual player, and when they're used together as a squad.

There are times when I wish the LMG would deal more damage when I'm using it by myself, but when a squad of 3-4 use the same LMG and post up somewhere you would be surprised how difficult it could be to take down that squad. The objective is on lockdown if they have a medic on standby.

@EA_Blueberry So when I shoot someone with the lmg and the headshot markers go off and the person turns and shoots me and they kill me in two shots and they still have over half health, that's not anything with damage being difficult to make even that's just basic knowledge of guns if I shoot you multiple times before you get one shot off it would not matter

@r43er45tr Is ea or battlefield design team need help with balancing guns, I am willing to work, I'm tired of children being exposed to falsely depicted actions in video games. Ie. Explosions and gunshots, as well as drugs
