Can't join any servers in multiplayer

Product: Battlefield V
Platform:PC
Please specify your platform model. PC
AMD or Nvidia Model Number MSI GTX 1060
Enter RAM memory size in GB 6GB
Are you using any software with an overlay? Yes
If yes, can you list them here? MSI Afterburner
If you disable this software, does that have any effect? No
Which part of the game is the issue happening in? Multiplayer
Which part of the mode? Conquest
Please select your region Europe
On which server did this happen? All of them
When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm) 17.12.19 17:14
Summarize your bug Whenever I try to join a server, the loading sign appears, just as it should, however instead of displaying the map in question's graphics loading screen, the screen is black for a little while. Then I am sent back to the Advanced Search with the list of servers. The background is now black, and the loading sign continues to be shown as if the map is still loading, but nothing happens if I wait. Then if I click on Quit, nothing happens, so in order to close down BFV, I have to go into Task Manager in Windows 10 and kill the BFV process. See attached screendump I made of when the game enters the above "eternal loading"-state.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Well, if it happens, it happens every time you try to join a server.
What happens when the bug occurs? See above in Summarize your bug.
What should be happening instead? The map should load as normally, and I should be put into the game.

xxxxx

  • Hey @EA_Kent !

Thanks for your response, I did try to repair the game, was also on live chat with EA support where a guy named Matt helped me delete the cache for BFV or something.

    Neither of that helped though.

But then someone at the official BFV forum suggested this:

"Make a copy of bfv folder. Delete the game. Put the backup in correct location or rename to default foldername and install again via Origin"

It sounded pretty weird, but I was getting desperate so I tried. And it worked! I'm happily playing BFV again 🙂

    Best,

    Hey @VOLBANKER_PC

That's definitely strange. Did this just recently start happening? If you haven't already can you try repairing BFV in Origin to see if that helps at all? I'm wondering if this might be happening because of missing or corrupted data somewhere. Repairing might help if that's the case.

You can repair the game by right-clicking BFV in your Origin Library and selecting Repair when the menu pops up.

Nice! Thanks for letting me know you were able to get it fixed. I'm glad to hear that helped. 👍
