CPU Usage 100% BFV

My setup :

Processor : i5 10400F (10th Gen) - 6 Cores , 12 Threads

Graphic Card : Gigabyte RTX 3070 8GB Vision OC

Memory : 16 GB Hyperx Fury RGB 3733 Mhz (8GB x 2)

Motherboard : Asus Prime Z490-P Aura Sync RGB dual M.2

Storage : Kingston A2000 1 TB M.2 NVMe SSD

PSU : Seasonic 650w 80+ Gold

Game is unplayable, CPU always 95% to 100% while GPU is at 40% or below.

I'm playing 1080p Resolution 144 refresh rate, Ultra Settings. (I changed to different graphic settings & still issue is there)

I don't know if this is related to all EA games since I newly built this PC & bought Battlefield Series & NFS games to catchup with what I missed.

Having the same issue with NFS Heat also.

Any help would be much appreciated cuz already bought the BF 2042 also, I don't want to be disappoint with same issue in BF2042 launch also.

Regards.

  • Thanks for the suggestion. But I found the solution.

It was Direct X 12 issue.

Once I turned off Direct X 12 in Advance Graphic Settings, problem solved.

Now CPU usage is 60% to 80% ^_^

  • Hi. Lock your FPS to 60 and monitor CPU loading.

At Ultra settings game uses too many CPU resources.

For 120+ FPS on Ultra 10400 is not enough in current game version.

  • I'm so confused. What is the concern with cpu & dx12 ? I'm pretty sure 6 cores 12 threads 10th gen i5 is more than enough. DX12 came out back in 2015 or 2016 when 4 cores 8 threads were the thing. Most important thing for dx12 is GPU. And my 3070 is more than enough ?!!!

Game doesn't need good GPU. You need good CPU first. BFV likes multithreading very much.

I played on overclocked to 5.2Ghz i9-9900K and it's enough for BF V running with DX12. But game can still utilize all 16 threads easily with total 80-90% usage of CPU (DX 11 max usage 60%).

Also tested on 2011 Xeon with 24 threads and Battlefield V utilized 20 threads in total.

Not sure about playing with DX12 on 6 core CPU normally.

Also i don't recommend to use any settings above low, because they are affecting on visibility too much (if you are rank player, it's important thing, because mostly u will be just outgunned by any user with lowest settings).

Additional input lag may occur with high-ultra.
