Hey @qpwoeiruty69 I don't know about the MG42 recoil as I rarely use the MMGs but wanted to quickly reply on the other two points.
The LMGs, like the Lewis and BAR, seem to work very well for me when it comes to TTK but I believe the MMGs are balanced this way due to the fire rate - after all if something fires at 1000rpm then the damage needs to be balanced accordingly. Similar to how you can't ADS unless using the bipod.
The last thing you mention sounds like the new end of round balancer which is being tested on official Breakthrough servers at the moment (here's a link to a post about it: https://forums.battlefield.com/en-us/discussion/205325/community-broadcast-new-eor-matchmaking/p1). It's not enabled on Community Games though so you might be able to avoid it that way. - @qpwoeiruty69 Depends on when you last played the game. Most weapons have been changed a lot over the last year, but not with the last patch.
I do have all the MMGs in gold and I have to say, they are really powerfull. You can easily kill multi enemies in seconds and with their high rate of fire, the damage is balanced quiet well. However, you have to adapt to them quiet a bit after using other weapons. The recoil for MMGs with huge beltfed magazines is rough for the first couple bullets, but it stabilizes the longer you spray.
