Ah so you're one of those guys who bail out at the first sign of trouble eh? (don't worry, I do it too) I think a slowdown would only encourage people to head out of bounds more since it's already pretty easy to take advantage of (when flanking the enemy for instance). In your example, you should pull up and stall your engine - In most cases, the enemy should overshoot, giving you ample time to repair or safely bail directly below.
I've actually been pushing for a different sort of out of bounds change, one where the timer won't reset back to 10 to punish deserters further; no "Colonel 100 I AM THE BATTLEFIELD" moments for us 😛
@TTZ_Dipsy Nah I don't bail out, which is why I need more time. I will be on the rear gun while I'm out of bounds, shooting at the enemy plane. When I turn back around, a slowed down timer will help me get back in.
If the plane is FUBAR, then I'll have no choice but to ditch it.
