FPS stuck at 30, or lower with a monitor

Hey guys,

I decided to test my framerate on my laptop - I know I know, laptops aren't for gaming - and in spite being a relatively okay laptop (MSI GL62M 7REX), the frame rate is capped at 30, regardless of the video settings - low, medium, high. This is extremely weird.

The problem becomes even worse if I plug my monitor, a BenQ EL2870U, if I dare to set it to 4K, it just drops to somewhere between 7 and 17 FPS (depending on the refresh rate) and the whole thing is just stutter as hell. Any ideas?

Even in the menus the frame rate is ridiculous, gets at 40 sometimes - in the laptop.

  • Have you adjusted the video output settings on the laptop itself? Have you checked to make sure that the video drivers are up to date? That laptop has a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050Ti 4G GDDR5 so make sure that there are no drivers in beta for BFV as sometimes they are available. Hopefully this will smooth out for you soon.

Thank you for your reply BINMERC,

Adjusting the video output settings of the laptop refers to changing the resolution on Windows? That's all I did, kinda confused as to what this means eheh

    Drivers are up-to-date yeah.
