If only Origin would say they were looking into any of this I would feel better. But right now I feel as though no one at Origin or Nvidia seems to know or care about what is going on. And even worse is that each forced update does more damage.
The first BF5 update ruined my 2080 as far as being able to run BF5. Without any changes to the computer, installing a different card, a 980ti and then a step-up 2080ti, I was able to run BF5 without any problems.
BF5 second update today ruined my new 2080ti and all kinds of crap is happening. First, the DLSS button did not work and was ghosted out. I could still run the game but my fps dropped all the way down to 11 fps. Nothing I did to try and fix this worked. Then in Geforce Experience two Battlefield games listed were listed and when ever you tried to select one or the other the game would not even open and Origin would crash.
I decided to uninstall everything. GeForce, all Nvidia drivers, I uninstalled battlefield 5 as well. Then I used a cleaner to clean out the registry, deleted files, etc. restarted several times and then tried to reinstall everything. Once again two Battlefield games showed up in GeForce, Origin still crashed, BF5 wouldn't open period. To add insult to injury my laptop that had seemed immune so far now exhibited the same behavior.
So BF5 has become completely unusable, corrupted GeForce, and no one seems to be the least interested. Not a single response from Origin tech after having sent in a tech support issue weeks ago.
Interestingly enough, the online website 3D Guru was attempting to run tests on the new DLSS with their 2080ti and they had the same issue I did with the DLSS option being broken. So they could not run their test with a 2080ti and had to use a 2080.

The First update ruined my 2080, the second ruined my 2080ti as far as BF5 goes. Funny how every other game not using RT works fine so one has to believe the RT sensors have been damage somehow.
This in incredible and I wish someone would speak up about the issue. No wonder no other game is using RT.
@dc8flyer If you have the means, you should definitely try playing Metro Exodus. It's a newly released game that supports DXR(ray tracing) and DLSS. That way you could greatly narrow the problem down to see if it's just BF5 or (at least imply) that it could be problem with tensor cores (ray tracing cores).

My crashes have stopped and BF5 is now working without issue.
If anyone is still having issues you can, if you want, purchase 3DMark "Advanced" benching software (30 dollars US). You can test you RT cores, video card and other hardware to see if the card passes. If it does then you will know it isn't the card.
Not sure what update or combination of the two corrected everything as Nvidia drivers and BF5 updates seem to get released at the same time. The most recent nvidia driver .91 has caused a new batch of headaches for some. There have also been problems trying to roll back to .81 as the rollback fails and people have had to reinstall much earlier nvidia updates.
I tried rolling back to .81 and the install continued to fail so I just kept uninstalling, cleaning registry. etc.. and after a couple of days .91 installed well enough to use. The one issue I have found is with .91 and G-sync. I don't use G-sync personally but BF5 will enable G-sync on its own when I open the game. It screws up Nvidia's control panel as G-sync is not selected but after a complete computer shutdown and power up G-sync enables again even though control panel G-sync is not enabled. So I have to go into Nvidia control panel, select G-sync/apply, the deselect G-sync/ apply and everything works fine until I open BF5 again.
I make a clone of my drive on a regular basis. I failed to do so earlier however when everything BF5 went to pieces. Now I do nor enable automatic download of nvidia drivers and clone the drive before updating any drivers.
