Solved

Game keeps resetting all my settings.

Product: Battlefield V
Platform:PC
Please specify your platform model. PC
AMD or Nvidia Model Number GTX 980
Enter RAM memory size in GB 16
Which part of the game is the issue happening in? Game Menu
In which game menu were you when the bug occurred? N/A
Please select your region Europe
On which server did this happen? N/A
When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm) Every time i launch the game
Summarize your bug Game doesn't save any settings. Everything reverts back to default every time i close it. It also keeps starting campaign prologue every time i launch it. I tried verifying my installation and running Origin and BFV with admin privileges - didn't help. I also tried looking if game saves any files, and it does write a bunch of stuff into C:\Users\my_user\OneDrive\Documents\Battlefield V. So it can has access to documents dir and can write there.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I have no idea. Maybe it a locale thing (my locale is Russian). Or Windows 10's OneDrive issue ?
What happens when the bug occurs? All my settings get reset.
What should be happening instead? My settings should persist and i shouldn't be put into prologue every time i launch the game.

This is getting really frustrating for me since it also resets all character and vehicle settings as well. And i need to spend minutes to bring everything in order every time i run the game.

  • Go to your documents folder -> Battlefield V -> Settings. Do your stuff and rename PROFSAVE_tmp to PROFSAVE. Remove "_tmp" part

    Worked for me

Breaking the rules by necro'ing this post but wanted to provide it here as it could be helpful for those experiencing a similar situation where the settings are reset and campaign starts from the prologue.

This could happen to players that upload all their data to the Microsoft OneDrive and then delete everything in the local document folder. Windows would replace the local document folder with a shortcut to the OneDrive document.
