Game not launching

Hello, I have been having this issue where I cannot launch battlefield 5. As soon as I launch it, it goes into full screen, lags a bit, then closes. I tried everything, even bought the game on steam and tried it there but with no avail.

  • @VirginOverlord Hey! Are you trying on console and PC or just PC?

If so try this for PC
Run origin and battlefield 5 as admin?
Are you on a different type of network? with possibly a too strict nat type?
If on dx12, tries switching back to 11, BUT than closing the game and restarting?
    Deleted settings?
Cleaned system files? (aka open command prompt and type sfc /scannow )
DISABLE all overlays, origins in game overlay, discord, geforce, msi, razer, hyperx etc

If on console try these steps

press and hold the power button on the PS4/5 for 7 seconds, until you hear two beeps. It will then boot in Safe Mode. Make sure the controller is connected to the console via cable when using Safe Mode, otherwise it won't work. Once in Safe Mode, choose the Rebuild Database option.

    Hope this helps
  • Hello, I am on PC.

Can you explain what do you mean about deleted settings and how to fix them?

And how can I switch back to DX11?

    Thanks.

@VirginOverlord Hey sorry for the late reply

    Try
Right click properties, launch options -dxlevel (directx version you want to run on 7-12)0

so if you wanted to run DX12 -dxlevel120 or something like that

DX 9 looks like -dxlevel 90
  • Okay, as soon as I am back home in a couple of hours I will try your suggestions.

    Thanks!

  • I tried what you suggested, but nothing works.

It still kicks me out immediately.

it goes black screen then the loading logo on the top right lags then crashes.

Hey, @VirginOverlord  can you try to do a clean boot to see if any programs are messing with Battlefield V and turn off any overlay programs, such as Discord or Nvidia experience.

Can you add a Dxdiag so we can see what hardware and drivers you have?

Let me know if this works or not for you. 🙂

    /Atic
