High Ping even when in region (PC)

Hello! I got this game a month ago during the time it was free on Amazon Prime. Played a few games, ping was great (40-70ms I think?) if I played in region (Singapore or Japan). After a while I decided to uninstall. Now I reinstalled just today as I was having ping issues on another game (BF1) and what do you know, I consistently get 200+ms in Singaporean servers. 250+ on Japanese servers. I have the same issues on BF1 except I can play on low ping there only on Hong Kong servers (~50ms). Japanese servers there too give me pretty bad ping (~250+). I never got to resolve the problem on BF1. I'll link my post about BF1 below if it helps. I got pretty decent internet with download speeds of around 70-80 mbps and upload speeds of ~70mbps. No difference in ping whether I used WiFi or ethernet. I've got pretty much no other issues with other games such as BF4 (BF4 SG servers = ~70ms on both WiFi and ethernet).

Edit: If on wifi I usually play on 5ghz. Switching to a 2.4ghz network makes no difference.
