Dear CJMeyer33,
I am sorry to hear that you are having a problem. It sounds like it may be lag due to high latency or packet loss. If you believe the issue is with hit registration, then please first troubleshoot your connection. Which means read through the four links below in their entirety and proceed from there.
EA: Troubleshooting your Battlefield V connection
EA: Xbox connection troubleshooting
Xbox: Troubleshoot your network connection speed
Xbox: Network settings on Xbox One
When you run the Xbox speed test, it will give you your ping, download speed, and upload speed. For online gaming Xbox recommends a ping of less than 150 milliseconds, a minimum download speed of 3 Mbps, and a minimum upload speed of 0.5 Mbps.
The time it takes for information to travel from your Xbox to the game’s server and back, round trip-time (RTT), is measured by sending a ping. The ping is the signal sent and latency is the RTT it takes which is measured in milliseconds (ms). 0-20 ms is low ping, excellent, and what you want. 50 ms is very good, 100 ms is average, and 150+ is high ping and may get you kicked from a game or disconnected from the server.
Also, a higher connection speed lowers your ping and a slow speed will give you high ping plus more lag. Check your ping bars. Play multiplayer, go to advanced search, pick a game mode and map, then view games. Try to pick a game with low ping.
After following the steps on the website links above, you should be in a better place. Keep playing and let me know how it goes.
Thank you for posting and don't stop shooting.
All the best,
- G
