Solved

Keep crashing with no error after about 5 - 20 mins(BFV)

I keep crashing. Ill be able to play just fine over 100 FPS and it will pause, no sound, then the sound with come back but still paused, then the game hard crashes to desktop.

I have a .wer crash report I found from literally the second I crashed that is titled 'Report.wer' but this topic maker says its an unsupported extension type.. so I will put it into a text file and upload it that way if it works..

Thanks

*specs below...

MOTHERBOARD: Rampage V Extreme
-------------------------------
CPU: i7 5820k OC'd to 4ghz
water cooled w/ H100i v2
-------------------------------
GPU: TitanX 12GB
-------------------------------
RAM: 32GB DDR4 G.Skill Ripjaws V
-------------------------------
PSU: EVGA 750W G2 80+ GOLD
-------------------------------
STORAGE: 1TB ADATA SSD, 512GB Samsung SSD, 128GB SSD (OS) // 2TB HDD x2 7200rpm

EDIT: I have tried deleting all the game setting files from this folder -> C:\Users\'username'\Documents\Battlefield V\settings and after, repairing the game with Origin. This didn't change anything except when it crashed, it paused then came back playable for a couple seconds with no game sound but I still heard my squad mates.. and then it hard crashed.

Thank you for replying. None of that worked. It seems your game doesn't like when we use an XMP profile for over clocking through our BIOS settings. So, I turned off XMP and manually overclocked and it seems to be working fine now. I can play through a whole game and not crash... so far. If I don't come back, all is well.

  • Hey @DiddlyOutlaw,

    Sorry to hear about this.

Have you tried any of the following steps?

    1. Turn off Origin in-game Overlay in Origin, and the Battlefield V Game Properties in Origin

    2. Clean Boot: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/faq/how-to-clean-boot-your-pc/

    3. Clear Origin Cache: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/

    4. Uninstall Origin: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/origin/origin/manually-uninstalling-origin/

    5. Make sure you're running DX11, and not DX12

Try these steps, and let us know if you're still experiencing this issue.

    Thanks 🙂

  • I had the same issue. I went thru many, many, ... many fix options before I found that disabling the XMP profile on the pc worked. I run the game generously overclocked on the gpu and cpu and after adjusting the ram I have have no crash issues. I use 16gb of "TeamGroup" brand ram (<- May be the culprit, but runs fine on other like-games).

I am suprised you can even overclock your GPU. I tried doing that and I received the same crash. Only manually overclocking my CPU and RAM can I play this without it crashing.

  • I still get mini lag spikes every so often, but I'm content at the moment that the game is playable. I do hope there is a fix in the works -would rather ree about a lost match than a dropped one.

    For reference, my pc specs:
    Mobo: asrock z390m pro

    cpu: i5* 9600k @ 4.9/fractal water cooling

    gpu: gtx 1070ti

ram: 2x8gb gb ddr4 team tforce vulcan

    pcu: evga 750w g3 80+ gold

    storage: 1tb samsung ssd

    Edit: typo
