I also experience the issue often.
It appears to happen after you play a Multiplayer game, possibly multiple rounds.
If you then Quit back to menu and Start a Combined Arms game Solo, the issue happens.
It is also not possible to get back to the Menu. Need to force-close the game: End Task or Alt+F4
Edit: Reproduced it again just now.
Joined a Conquest Fjell 652 mid game. Played only the one round.
Lost the round and quit back to menu.
Tried to start a Combined Arms: Hot Pursuit - Easy solo
Got stuck on loading screen.

Won't load if you play a couple of rounds of multiplayer.
This crap needs fixing!
I have the exact same problem.. If i play multiplayer first, i have to exit BF5 and start up the game again.
If not, i have Infinte loading screen.

Also, wtf is there no matchmaking for this game mode?! It appears that the growing incompetence runs throughout every EA studio and not just BioWare.
