PC: All my settings/options reset

All of my Battlefield V PC options for everything reset: mouse sensitivity, customized graphics options, resolution (that isn't hard to redo), and many other aspects were highly customized, and I really do not want to spend hours trying to test everything just to get it all "perfect" again.  I thought all of this information was stored on the cloud.  Is there an issue with the cloud servers right now?

  • Go to Documents/Battlefield V/settings and renaming PROFSAVE_tmp to PROFSAVE and see if that fix's it. If there are no files in that folder it means your antivirus is blocking them from being saved.

  • I looked through that directory and found several PROSAVE_* files.  I changed each one to PROFSAVE while renaming the others as backups in the process, and none of them brought back my settings.  Thanks for the suggestion though.

Now I'm really upset.  I've tried working from scratch and even through a Google search, I can't find where user.cfg goes so I can set a specific frame rate limited to launch so my Gsync monitor works correctly.  I can't find my Battlefield V installation anywhere in places that would be relevant.

@MeowKittieMeow User.cfg goes into the settings folder in "Documents, battlefield, settings" That's were all your settings in game are.

In your user name you don't have any special charters do you? Because they can sometimes interfere with saving settings.
  • By charters do you mean characters?  I have a number in my user name and that's it.  I do not see a user.cfg file there, and I do not remember if I created one from scratch originally.  I remember having it so it showed my frames per second in the far upper right corner in green as well as making the max 97 FPS, due to my Gsync monitor running at 100 Hz.  Thanks for your help so far sk1lld.  It is much appreciated!

Yes characters, remove the characters and see if the settings save.
