PC Battlefield 5 High CPU usage, Low GPU usage

    Thank you both for your suggestions and feedback. I hadn't checked this post lately because EA flagged it as spam, but I thought I would update this thread.
    I turned FFR off with DX12 on, and it did put slightly less strain onto the CPU, but still gets around 90% and up while in game. Turning DX12 off placed my CPU at 100% while sitting in the menu. So with FFR OFF and DX12 ON is the best combination for a low-end CPU. Although it still runs 90% at least while in game, which is a shame.     that even an i7-8700 were still getting the same performance issues. It sucks because I like the game, but having a hex-core seems almost necessary to play it, even though their recommended CPU's are far below the performance a hex-core CPU would give.

I'm having a similar issue, except I shouldn't be bottlenecking at all... Here's a comparison between the recommended specs and mine:

Recommended:

  • CPU: Intel Core i7 4790 / AMD Ryzen 3 1300X or equivalent
  • RAM: 12 GB
  • OS: 64-bit Windows 10
  • VIDEO CARD: DirectX 11.1 Compatible video card 8GB AMD Radeon RX 580 / 6GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060)

My Rig:

  • CPU: Interl Core i7-8700k@3.70hz (I overclock to 4.88hz)
  • RAM : 16 GB
  • OS: 64-bit Windows 10
  • VIDEO CARD: x2 RTX 2070 Super (SLI)

Before I had upgraded my gpu, I was able to run a 1080ti and max settings 1080p 60fps. Now I can only run the game at medium settings (with some variation). First I tried 1440p@144hz max settings. Didn't work. I tried the same on 1080@60hz. Same results.

These results were massive, inconsistent lag spikes making the game almost unplayable. My CPU usage will be upwards of 90% while my GPU rests between 2-10% usage. I'm incredibly confused and frustrated because I should technically be able to run this game at max settings in 1440 with at least 60fps.

So far I've tried disabling SLI, completely removing my card, Updating drivers. Further than that, I'm not sure what the issue is. I don't believe my CPU should be bottle-necking though with the caliber of the CPU. It should be enough, right?

Any answer will be super helpful. I can provide more information if needed.

    Do you use any antivirus or security suite? If none, what settings are used under Windows Defender?

      Just bought the game(Apr 7 2020) and it runs like crap still. What's the deal?

      I built my system specifically tailored for gaming.

      Specs:

      CPU: i7 9700k  /  4.8 Ghz 1.25v (Stable) / Corsair H150i Pro for cooling

      GPU: 2080 ti FTW3 Ultra Hybrid / 1350 Mhz clock / 7500 Mhz memory (Stable)

      MOBO: Aorus Master z390 / F11-C Bios update

      RAM: 16 GB Trident Z RGB / 3200 Mhz / 14-14-34 / XMP Enabled

      PSU: 1000w EVGA Gold +

      MONITOR: Acer Predator 144op 144hz Gsync

      Running all updated drivers including windows. I don't run antivirus software other than regular checks (once a month). 

      If peripherals matter, these are running their respected software

      MAT: Razer Goliathus Extended Chroma

      Keyboard: Corsair K-70

      Mouse: Steelseries Rival 500

      I always use DDU for every gpu driver install including audio at times.

      Most settings in BIOS are set as default other than basic optimizations and overclocking (nothing ridiculous)

      Only one single game I can't run is Modern Warfare 2019 because of unknown reasons. Crashes before even starting up. Go figure, another EA title.

      At least I can play BFV but CPU at 90-100% usage and arguably the second best GPU on the market that money can buy for gaming is barely being used. So I'm getting this unbearable micro stutters that's hard to physically see but by gum can you feel it.  

      I have no issues with any other game, this includes BF1. BF1 runs absolutely beautiful at average 100fps or more with everything cranked to the max. DX12.

      However, the ONLY fix I managed to conjure up:

      Cranking up the resolution to 130 which dropped the cpu usage by at least 15%, but I'm trading the micro stutters for 60 or below fps which is just as unplayable for me.

      I've tried looking around but most google searches have no 'definite fix' and are outdated to when the game came out.

      Am I being led to believe the game is still not fixed to this day? It sure as heck ain't my system.

      Crippling a system by turning everything off and tweaking things is not a solution to me and are an ultimate waste of time with the exception of very low budget pc's which is understandable.

      I only bought the game for CAD $30. So at least it's a terrible loss like Modern Warfare 2019 is for me. (80 bucks and wasn't allowed a refund oof)
