[PC] Can't Launch BF5, error message: Please update your Microsoft Basic Render.

Can't Launch BF5, error message: Please update your Microsoft Basic Render Driver driver.

I've updated all drivers and tried a clean install of graphics updates.

I've gone into Nvidia control panel and made BF5 open only with my Nvidia graphics card.

I've reinstalled the game a few times.

I've cleaned all the caches possible.

My laptop is able to run the game, as I have played both the BETA and the TRIAL versions.

(I got the attached error message while still in the TRIAL, so the explanation that full game may not run on my pc while to the TRIAL version may run is wrong)

The error first started on November 19th. (2018)

I'm out of ideas.

  • Yes i did, but it turned out that the problem was actualy not properly instaled windows october update.

    @ggsalem

Make sure your display is connected to your video card and not your motherboard and then follow these steps:

    1. Open the nvidia Control Panel
    2. Click Manage 3D settings
    3. Click the Program Settings tab
    4. Click the Add button
    5. Select the game from the list or click browse and navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield V\bfv.exe
    6. Select bfv.exe and then Open
    7. Customise individual settings if you like
    8. Exit nvidia control panel and try playing.

Please try this and let us know if you are good to go. Thanks.

I've done this five times already. I mentioned it in the first message.

Hey, @ggsalem make sure that all drivers for windows and your gpu drivers are up to date.

You can also try to do a clean boot to see if there any programs messing with Battlefield V and turn off any overlay programs for example Discord or Nvidia experience.

Try running a CCleaner to remove old temp files and cache.

Let me know if this works or not for you. 🙂

Hello my name is C.J. and I am having problems trying to connect to the multiplayer. its saying "Upgrade your game" or something. I know what your thinking, that I have gotten the "Free Trial" edition, but I have bought the Disc formont from walmart. which should automatically come with the standard mode(multiplayer). I think I know what went wrong though so before I bought the disc I did download the "Free trial" to start playing with my friends from the app store. I believe that my EA account did not reset to the stander mode on the disc. I hope you can find out what happen to my game. you can email me at [edit: email address removed] for any information you need to acquire. also I am going to go through step by step what I did to this point; 1: I downloaded the Free Trial from the app store. 2: Created an EA account on NightBooch5167. 3: played up to the time where I could not play multiplayer anymore on the Free trial. 4: deleted the Free Trial edition (so I could download the disc (stander mode) 5: logged on to the disc version, with the EA account of NightBooch5167(the same EA account) and found out that my game did not upgrade to the stander mode but was still in Free Trial mode. than I found out that you had a Tech Support so here I am. Thank You so much if you did read this or considered reading these, and thanks a billion if you could fix this for me. Again if you need anything else please contact me at [edit: email address removed]
