planes suck

I wanna get this straight. Fix the goddamn planes ea in Battlefield V or im never using them again. Ive been playing the new pacific update and the first thing I normally do is upgrade the specializations on the weapons and the vehicles. The guns - easy. The tanks - easy(ish). Planes - **** impossible. I start out with the Japanese planes and very slowly upgrade the stupid thing. On all planes, i need the increased maneuverability because they barely even turn and in a dogfight, your basically **** when someone gets behind you. Now the **** plane is pretty quick and I can use it very well, but with the American plane. This is where I start to get really pissed. Think about it, if you want to upgrade the damn thing, YOU NEED TO USE IT. But its dog **** at the start and I cant go anywhere. Ill spawn in on the carrier and either A. get destroyed by a **** plane dive bombing on me or B. end up flying around trying to stay behind an enemy plane only to have it appear behind me with its increased maneuverability. I tried the specialization for the explosive secondary weapon and its terrible. I just want to get to that final upgrade for the wings but I cant get there because im stuck going 0-20 in a game with maybe a couple dozen hitpoints. whats stupid is i want to change the explosive secondary to faster accel and speed but I cant because GUESS WHAT, i need to get the plane to level 6. its main weapon is also trash and ill hit a **** plane a zillion times and nothing will happen until i either get hit from behind by another plane or some idiot on the ground with a fleigerfaust (way too op btw). Why isnt there a durability upgrade??? there is only the health upgrade that gives you 10% and fixes a wing. ill be down to 20 health and spamming the 10% thing but it wont do jack **** because i dont have any broken wings. i want to be able to provide some legitimate air support by taking out enemy planes and using the incendiary bombs.
im tired of it ea, fix it

  • The success of flying has multiple factors in many of which you have no control over.

Some pilots are easy to shoot down in a dogfight, some are impossible. It is really a matter of luck who you are against.

Same goes for your wingmen. Can they clear the skies or are they just flying dummies.

    As for some useful advice:

    - the easiest way to upgrade planes is to strafe infantry with the explosive rounds (they are useless vs aircraft) but for this you would ideally have a team which is constantly spotting enemies (happens more often is breakthrough rather than conquest).

    - also don't fly over enemy territory, meanwhile if you are being chased, lure your tail over your team to get them Fliegered.

    - last but not least: don't use the field repair upgrade, you need the emergency repair instead which gives back more health.

Should the Fliegerfaust be nerfed? Absolutely yes!

  • @CooperCreeper18  I see a lot of anger here and unfortunately it's easy to get worse the more you get frustrated as you're not flying to the best of your ability. You'll start going more aggressive, get tunnel visioned and ultimately lost all sense of surroundings which will see you back at the home screen in no time.

Yes the Fliegerfaust is an extremely powerful weapon but it's not unbeatable. Here are some tips that I guarantee you better results in future and while these seem like common sense and you may tell other people yourself, very seldom to people take their own advice.

Firstly if you know there is a section of the map that has people shooting at you with the FF avoid it, don't try and get back at them because this is what they want, they will hide in bushes, behind houses, etc and it will only cause you to get more and more frustrated, leading to more and more deaths. Just let it go and steer clear.

Secondly when going in for a strafing run, be aware of not only your height but distance to target. You can strafe low but allow yourself enough turning time to keep out of the FF range and this goes for both factions.

Thirdly if you are in pursuit of an enemy fighter and they start to descend towards the island IMMEDIATELY pull up towards the ceiling and watch behind you. One of two things will happen with that fighter, they will either head towards their resupply station which you can then follow while remaining near the ceiling to enable a quick dive boom and zoom or two they will loop off towards the water once they realize you are not behind them and at altitude they will not be able to see you when looking straight back as you will be out of their FOV. One thing is certain and that is you will avoid being baited by either FF or the Type 10.

Forth, in a dogfight it doesn't come down to who has leading edge, which has radar or even who gets on who first, it's who utilizes their aircraft the best. I don't run the leading edge or radar on any of my aircraft and I can comfortably turn the tables on nearly every aircraft that gets on my six but initiating various manoeuvres, speed control and using the surrounding environment to my advantage. If you're one of these people who have been spamming stall as your primary defence then of course you will have major issues when dealing with decent pilots as this is actually a very easy thing to counter which will leave you sitting in the air like a floating piñata. Stalling should be used ONLY as a last resort when they are so close behind you that they can practically see the pilot.

Fifth and final, fly smart. I know this may sound redundant but flying with full awareness of your height/distance to enemy ground targets, knowing where both the enemy and friendly fighters are at all times, keeping an eye on mounted AA positions through the use of the minimap (the AA icon will disappear when mounted until spotted up) and if you're in a party, keeping good communication with your team is key.

Flying isn't simply choosing a plane and watching your score go up, flying actually takes a lot of patience and skill to use effectively, for if it was that easy to go 100+ in a game everyone would do it but alas only a handful of skill players can pull this off. Learn from these pilots, watch videos but most importantly take every game as a learning opportunity to improve on your next

is anyone else having issues with HOTAS flight controls where if you use both Roll and Pitch input at the same time,  the Pitch gets cut in half for movement thus cutting your ability to turn hard in a dogfight cut in half?

    @Real_Noobalishus

    That inverted flight was insane!

I see you like flying the Spitfire, 20k kills holy sh!t xD

I subbed to your youtube channel, I like the editing. But actually I was asking about material on flying techniques. Do you ever plan to upload that?

@AOD_CapStar362yeah, now that you mention it, I see sometimes my planes act "weird". That's probably what you have described. I will test it more and report it as a bug. It needs to be fixed!

  • @GUTENTAAAAG I've asked about doing flying tutorials before but I honestly don't think I'd make a good teacher lol. Sure I could put things up like how to pull off certain maneuvers but I'm sure if you search that on Youtube there's probably already 100's of people doing just that.

I'd really like to go up against Niccaman myself but he's on PC not on Xbox which is a shame really, could of made some really good content..........for me lmao

whats weird is,  the European Theater aircraft do not have this issue,  only the Pacific Theater.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oq-bdgTEq-s

pay close attention to the Elevator input when i add Aileron input,   watch how it instantly cuts the Elevator input in half,  and then as I do a full sweep of my stick,   notice the "jerky" input of the elevator as i add and neutral my aileron input.

well,  this equals a cut in maneuverability effectiveness of half and also makes pitch induced turning very erratic and unstable,  thats not cool

  • ahhahhh yess the new challenge is nearly impossible for me i can't even get 1 kill with a plane and they expect me to get 6 kills?! i load every bullet into into an enemy plane and it feels it'll take ages for them to go down i've also tries bombing people that also never works and all this for an plane camo?? im on the brink of just giving up on this particular challenge not to mention when it's the other way around it doesn't take me ages to go down the logic in this game is ridiculous

  • @skrilex33 Firstly I'd like to commend you for trying the planes out and seeing they're not as easy as many claim. Flying effectively is a skill and takes time to learn, when you're near giving up that is the best time to push yourself even harder.

Just like that top tanker or infantry player, you need to constantly push yourself. This sets you apart from the others who gave up when things got hard and when all is said and done, you'll be the one thrashing the battlefield.

If what you really want is to get better at flying, don't give up, keep going.... the skin this week is just a bonus 🙂
