Post Patch: AA Tanks too Strong, Bomber Reload too Slow

I think the devs went all out with the request to nerf bombers in this latest patch... the AA tanks do massive damage to bombers and very quickly. The bombers also reload too slowly. The resupply time already adds to it... I think that the time should be a little less. AA tanks should be nerfed by a little more, somewhere in between pre and post patch. I'm able to take on a full size tank with the AA tank!

Just my 2 cents.

  • Hey @SterlingARCH3R, I would agree personally that the changes around that affect the air combat may have tip over to one side a bit too much. Reduce the cooldown on the bombs would be my preferred change.

It all depends on the type of plane you have. If you have the JU88 for example, you can always alternate between your cluster bombs and your 1000kg/4x 500kg bombs, resupplying each pass.

If you are using the Mosquito or something it pays to alternate a bombing run and an AA support role with machine gun fire while you're waiting.

I guess what i'm trying to say is I think the reload times are in a relatively good spot right now, and while much stronger, regular AA stationariess and tanks can only realistically inflict heavy damage - a decent pilot should still be able to get away (but be forced to stay away for repairs)

  • I would only half agree that the reload times have gone overboard. For bombers with large payloads the reload time is fair as they can wreak havoc to ground targets in a single run. For fights such as the Spitfire VA or BF109 G2/G6 the reload time of such small payloads is ridiculous. Fighters already have a hard enough time with mobile AA (especially the FlakPanzer) by going and making the reload time on the bombs to nearly a full minute gives more than enough time for the tanker to jump out and repair his AA fully without consequence. While you can fly back in for a strafe 9/10 times they will jump back in and the MG's do nothing against them.

I understand fighters are meant for dogfights but with the update nerfing planes as much as it did, very few people go in planes now, which forces fighter planes to engage in ground strikes

If nothing else, it's the perfect time to practice killing soldiers on the ground with your machine guns. Into first person view, right click mouse to zoom, find soldier and fire away without hitting the ground 🙂

  • I see that DICE buffed planes with the quicker reload times. I think that it's good now.

  • do u get cheater in the game? i didn't find any tank is powerful as BF1, in BFV, tank can't fight alone, esp all vehicle healing have been nerfed, i think only aimbot tank can kill units easy and quick, as the aiming system in BFV have issue, wait for fix but none have been fixed currently
  • @GVlXxf The tanks are certainly nerfed in comparison with previous BF titles. It's much harder to use them overall. However, I do think that you can acclimate to them and really dominate. The core difference, besides attrition of course, is the turret speed and aiming. If there's a rhyme and rhythm to it, you can certainly learn to get shots on target.
