I don't know how many of you guys have try to play BFV this weekend but game play has been absolutely horrendous and getting worse. Other players just seemingly disappear then re appear in a completely different area because the stuttering and fps drops have gotten so bad. I can deal with the small bugs, but what is going on that make these issue get worse by the day? I just got out of a match where my 13 players quit, just guessing, due to performance (The sever was running terrible). 19 vs 32 on Breakthrough attacking team is not fun. Not hearing from DICE what is causing this or what they are doing to remedy the situation is not fun either. How do you expect to hold on to new players to this franchise when the game is running like this and you don't even explain what's going on?
@TheOriginalNY98 Unfortunately the TTD/Insta-death bug is also still a major issue that causes a lot of rage-quits as well. I'm pretty fed up with this game right now.

@Adman_Tor the most frustrating aspect off all this in my opinion , very little to no information from DICE. Their silence is deafening and I feel like their silence is also an answer on how they feel about the community. It’s not right leaving us all hanging with the standard “ we are looking into it” I feel like all players on all platforms having this issue should get a better explanation on what’s going on and how/when they plan on remedying the situation
- 7 years ago
@TheOriginalNY98So true. To that exact point - I keep trying to report that there is STILL an issue with TTD and insta-deaths (one frame deaths) and they keep ignoring it. After one patch where they said they fixed it - they won't even listen to any more dialogue about it anymore. It's ridiculous.
It's obviously not fixed as it's still happening to me, people I talk to and streamers that I watch. BUT since it was included in patch notes one time - there won't be any more discussion about it.

I think I found a fix guys.I cleared BFV Cache and its been running smooth for hours. I hope this helps you guys out. For PS4:
1. Go to settings
2. Select Application Saved Data Management
3. Select Saved Data In System Storage
4. Select Delete
5. Select BFV
6. Select BFV and hit delete
This is going to set everything back to factory in the game. It's going to be like firing it up for the first time when you have to select brightness, plays the intro, ect. I've played a bunch of 64 player matches so far with zero stutter and very minimal fps drops. I don't know how to clear the cache for Xbox or pc. I'd post it if I knew. I hope this helps you guys. It been working great for me. Good luck!

@TheOriginalNY98
Thanks for sharing that! Glad it's working better for you.
We've actually seen some reports that clearing the cache improved performance afterwards, but we cannot fully confirm this as a viable workaround solution that will yield the same results for everyone. - 7 years ago
@EA_Blueberry You're very welcome. I hope this works for everyone else. I had very minimal fps and stutter (if any) for 3 hours after I did it. For those who have the problems in this thread, I knew as soon as I got into a breakthrough game it worked. Hope you guys have the same luck.

Ok .... good but I dont want to clear my cache anytime I want to play to this game. We need a FIX !
But thank you for the tips !
@smallworms I only did it once and so far so good. However, I'm downloading today's patch right now so who knows whats gonna happen. Could go right back to stuttering and fps drops
- smallworms7 years agoSeasoned Traveler
@TheOriginalNY98 ok I will test this patch right now 🙂
- smallworms7 years agoSeasoned Traveler
The game have less stutering except in a place with a many player at same location.
Then, need a another patch haha
@smallworms I noticed that too. It was working fine yesterday after I cleared the cache, now today its stuttering again where there is a lot of action. It's too bad, I was really enjoying the game again for a few hours lol

Hey, @EA_Blueberry and @EA_Atic , thanks again for all your help...but I want to hopefully clear up any confusion on this issue.
Just so we are clear, the microstuttering - on consoles - is a separate issue from the big frame rate/FPS drops during heavy action...correct?
@xTWENTYxONEx- I'm done with BFV until all of the bugs are sorted, until we get the level cap increase and until all of those new maps are available.I've been going back to older games and the gaming experience is Soooo much better. No stress... no frustration.
@EA_Blueberry I tried powering through all of this BS and coming here to report bugs. BUT many of the major bugs that I'm reporting go ignored so I don't think they will ever be fixed.
See you all in 6-8 months or so...
- 7 years ago@xTWENTYxONEx I don’t know what you want to call it but I am experiencing frame drops/lag/stuttering on my PS4 noticeable only since the May 23rd update, in every map especially the new Mercury one, making it unplayable.

Per PartWelsh:
Something that we wasn't able to work into this update was a resolution to the Stuttering issues encountered by Players. I chatted with the teams about this last week, and our Engineers believe that they're making good progress on the problem. We'll have more updates about this the instant that we can provide them. For now we just wanted to ensure that you understood that we view this as a High Priority for us to fix, but will not be addressed as a part of Update #5.
@Adman_Tor We really do appreciate your bug reports as you are one of the most active Battlefield fans here that contribute weekly. Your efforts do not go unnoticed. These reports are sent to DICE and they have to make decisions on what issues to prioritize. "Severity" is one that really stands out for me. There is a lot that goes into it which Braddock512 broke down for the community here:Issue Identification and Communication Process
But before we dive into the top issues that we're working on this week, it's important to detail the process in which we identify, prioritize, and begin to address them. The process we've adopted is as follows:- Identify Issues – Pulling from all sources to determine all outstanding game issues, including and not limited to social channels, customer support teams, direct from the community, in-game data, internal bug trackers, community-maintained bug trackers, etc.
- Define Severity – Determine severity of each issue based on the number of players affected and the impact to systems (economy, retention, game experience, etc.).
- Weekly Syncs – Community and Development teams meet frequently to circle on latest issues, set priorities, and establish timelines.
- Community Communication – Provide the community with insight on issues we are prioritizing for the week and an ETA on proposed fix.
- Issue Resolution Communication – Once we've resolved an issue, we'll let you know!

Thanks for the reply but maybe I was not clear:
The stuttering is a completely separate issue from the major frame rate drops and I keep seeing everyone refer to them being one in the same. Again, it's nice to know that the Dev team is working to fix the microstutter but what about the frame rate issues? That should be priority right now along with the microstutter since all platforms are having this problem.
It would be nice to see these acknowledged as separate issues since many are experiencing the FPS problems but are NOT experiencing the microstutter.
Again, thank you very much for all your efforts and help here!

This is exactly what I'm talking about also. That little micro stutter is nothing compared to the massive fps drops in game. That small little pause after some kills, I can deal with that. That's peanuts compared to what we are talking about. It's when you're in a fire fight at a choke point that its the worst. Players you're shooting at disappear then reappear in a different area because your frames dropped so low the game can't keep up with everyone else. It's unacceptable that so many players across all platforms have this problem and we are still here, June 7th dealing with a issue that started the 30th of April. A roll back on the updates should have been considered to fix it. It was done that one time the TTK was changed when no one asked for it. I understand issues like these can't be fixed in a day, but its been 38 days of this. Not one person I know plays this game anymore specifically because of this problem

How come there is no solution at sight for this issue ?
This was introduced by the last patch in late May, shouldn’t this be enough to investigate and solve the problem ASAP ???
You guys make us wish for October to come quickly so we can jump on call of duty.
Still zero new communication about these issues...Nobody on my friends list plays BFV anymore because it's so messed up. A majority of them just deleted the game off their consoles. If killing the community was a goal for DICE, they've reached it and then some. But keep making those new trailers tho guys. It's gonna be a blast playing all the new maps at 5 fps
- 7 years ago
I played yesterday on PS4 and it was almost unplayable. The game rarely kept stable 30 fps, most of the time it felt like less then 20 fps. Please fix it.

You know what really sucks about this situation we all have? I played the new Outpost mode and I'm hooked on it. It's an amazing mode that I'm hoping stays. Problem is, I only play a handful of rounds before I can't take the fps drops. I can't understand with all the people having these issues, fixing these problems were not made a priority so we could enjoy the new content and modes. Outpost, is the most fun I've had playing this game since its inception. It would be amazing if we could all play it without the problems. @EA_Blueberry is there any new news about a fix that incoming?
- smallworms7 years agoSeasoned Traveler
Still stuttering ! Very desapointed ! The community ignored again !

I'm afraid there's no news to share at this moment. The team has FPS/lag/suttering/freezing listed as a high priority though. We'll share what we can when we can as soon as possible.

it’s a shame for such a great game after every update something new coming up... you guys nailed the bugs this time with May’s update.. The game is totally unplayable and find myself after following the Battlefield for so many years on a daily basis on the edge for the first time...Community made so much patience with the lack of content and as soon as you released something and hope came again for this game you just broke the game.. But yeah in 11 days a new map is coming out.. let the 20% of the majority of players who by luck didn’t affected by the stuttering issue enjoy the new content.. once again bravo...

This is GREAT news! It's always nice to get confirmation from the Dev team for a little peace of mind.
As always a big THANK YOU to @EA_Blueberry and @EA_Atic for your help!
Bottom line is that we are all fans and long-time players...and for most of us, Battlefield is our favorite game to play. We all just want to see the game thrive and be the most fun it can be. We also care about the long term condition of this awesome franchise and hope that EA & Dice are willing to re-evaluate their process, decisions and game plan to make sure our beloved Battlefield stays healthy and thriving moving forward...
