PS4 - "You have lost connection to the EA servers"
Hi there,
I bought this game yesterday, downloaded it overnight (while playing a little bit of War Stories), and then launched the game today to be given the message "You have lost connection to the EA servers" on the main menu, with the following message beneath "Online features will be unavailable. Please try again. Please check ea.com/unable-to-connect for more information."
Please note that I can play online on all my other games with no issues whatsoever. It is only BfV that seems to be having connection issues.
I have already viewed similar topics to this one and have already followed the steps given on https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/console/connection-troubleshooting-advanced-playstation/
Steps I have already taken (to no avail):
- Restarted my router (several times)
- Confirmed that my PSN ID is linked to my EA account.
- Ensured my system is up to date.
- Cold reboot of PS4. (Switching off, unplugging, waiting 30+ seconds, replugging, restarting).
- Ensured I have a legitimate version of PS plus on my main account.
- Deleted all saved data from BFV and replayed through the Introduction.
- Attempted port forwarding - this was a long process that turned out fruitless (although I may have done this incorrectly).
- Enabled UPnP
If you require any more information, I'm happy to provide. I'm just upset that I've bought this game yesterday to find I can't even play online... which was the main reason I bought it.

EDIT: I have just been on live chat with an advisor called Ram. He said it's a reported issue and that the team is working on it. Apparently I should keep an eye on the twitter page in the next few hours?
I won't lie, what he gave me was a bit vague... Hopefully someone has something a bit more specific as to what is going on? - I've attached the transcript below

Update: I fixed it!
it turns out that the reason I couldn’t connect was due to Vodafone secure net blocking the connection. After disabling this, it now works 🙂
