I didn't really get around to trying the other thing in the thread that blueberry linked yet, been pretty busy with work and developing a game in unreal engine 4 so I am gonna attempt to try it again later.
However, thanks for confirming I'm not the only one experiencing this issue. I had a feeling I wasn't.
Yeah, I am currently under the impression it's got something to do with the game programming and our mobile graphics cards programming somewhere.
I never had this issue before May 2018's BF1 Update. That's when it stopped working right and I had no choice but to manually exit out of the game because it kept freezing. I noticed that sometimes the exit button works in BFV on a rare occasion just because I periodically try it anyway though lately for the past 30+ days its been freezing constantly.
I haven't seen any graphics driver errors. Where are you seeing that error? I wonder if I am getting it too and maybe not realizing it?
The driver error comes up with any driver newer than june 2018 , can play for 20 seconds or 30 mins without it happening then it just freezes the game and you need to open a desktop 2 (sometimes) if you can't alt tab and quit it that way.
That has been an ongoing issue on and off since the beta of BF4 !
But yeah my bf1 started doing it the same time as yours and both bf1 and v are doing it now.. whats worse is when you rage alt f4 and it bricks your PC !!

I never got around to playing BF4 much so didn't realize it extended back that far but it doesn't surprise me.
Yeah, I noticed the alt + f4 thing as well and I even tried another program called SuperF4 that is supposed to allow you to close an unclosable program when it freezes up but that still didn't even help. Additionally. I did try the workaround via the other thread but still no difference leaving me with the only option of trying a clean install of windows and testing out just playing battlefield v before installing anything else but I have a very strong feeling that the issue will remain though I may give it a try at some point perhaps..
At this point, I just really think there's a problem between the battlefield game programming and Nvidia's programming that keeps screwing all of this up or else something somewhere in Microsoft Windows 10 but if that were the case it would break all of my games, same with Nvidia, hence my reason for thinking the issue is in Battlefield somewhere.
Oddly, yesterday I started experiencing severe framerate drops out of nowhere. I am guessing there was an update to BFV between now and the 12/12 Nvidia driver update on top of that all of a sudden. I tried a clean install and re-checked all of my global settings and the issue continued oddly so I rolled back to the one that was working from November to try out tonight again just to see if it goes back to normal. This is extremely irritating. I have never had to jump through so many hoops in my life and my system meets all of the minimum requirements.
I think for my next computer I am moving back to AMD Desktop Gaming Rig even though I like the laptop mobility but overall I think its just because it's more stable. Nvidia is more powerful but so that's why I gave it a try but, it feels like it comes at the price of sacrificing a lot of stability and quality. My last gaming rig was an AMD laptop and it never gave me this much of an issue after updating the driver on occasion. This is just absolutely absurd.
