Random "Unable to connect" errors

For almost a month now I am unable to play BFV and BF2042 due to random "Unable to connect" errors. Sometimes the game works for 10 minutes, sometime it kicks me out after 60 seconds.

I have tried reinstalling both the EA app and the game itself, clearing cache, changing DNS, restarting router, etc.

Bottom line is, I have no issues with internet connection with any app besides EA. I have the same problem both on my desktop and laptop computers, and both with my fiber optic wired connection and my 4G connection shared from my phone via USB.

All this tells me that the problem is not on my end.

Can someone from EA support explain what's the issue here?

  • Seems I have the same.

Suddenly since this morning I can no longer play.

. internet is stable and fast (restarting my router just in case)

. EA app seems to run fine

    . BF5 starts up

. after 10-60 seconds starts loosing connection to EA servers.

(I can click online and immediately it is fixed but it disconnects me quite soon after again)

Have no clue what it is.
Also trouble shooted everything I can and cleared cache. No results

    Please help

As usual - EA doesn't seem to care. There is huge number of people with this issue, but they just don't care.

After more than a year of the game being unplayable due to enormous number of cheaters that were rebooting servers and glitching them and whatnot - they finally introduce anticheat which didn't ban any cheaters but broke the game for huge percentage of normal players.

And as said in the initial post, it's not just BFV. BF2042 brakes in the exact same manner.

It's just disgraceful. I've been paying for something that is completely unusable for some time now. So I think I'm done with EA.

  • I see what you mean, the fact there is not even a reply from an EA admin and they this is the only way to communicate (rest also is without response) brings up that very same question/comment you raise. It is one of the reason why I hardly buy EA games anymore. A lot of the menus are slow, interfaces do not working properly and their backend is insufficiently supported. They have lot a lot of quality and service issues by putting the customer no longer first place.

That said, I have been able to get it working!

I figured it must be the anti-cheat. What I did:
    1. clear cache EA app
    2. start up via steam,.. this triggered for me a reinstallation of the anti-cheat

    3... didn't work
4.. out of desperation did the same again, figuring that installation must be going wrong
5.. second time it did work.

God knows why but certain a product/design flaw. I managed to overcome it (FOR NOW!) with trial and error. Could break any moment again as it is nothing different than what I had before when things also worked properly then gone to *. Fingers crossed!

    Hope this helps you too.

Still have the same issue. Tried everything. Problem with EA server connectivity only - STEAM works fine.

Can't get a refund for Play Pro.

    Can't contact EA support directly.

    Just a plain scam.
