Re: Can't play bf5 online

@woodhelm2

Are you still having some trouble connecting? A power cycle with the modem/router and console usually fixes most connection issues.

  1. Unplug the modem/router power for at least 3 minutes.

  2. Touch the power button on the front of the PS4 for at least 7 seconds (until the system beeps twice). Turn it back on after 1 minute. Launch the game.

If those don't work out for you please let us know if you couldn't find any solutions already posted up in our boards around "Timed Out" errors.

Thanks for getting back, but that didn't work we think it might be our internet provider or something. We are also having trouble with bf on xbox and pc.

I cannot connect online either with my BF 5 PC version.

Modem reset and Steam works  so something has been screwed up the last couple of days.

    Hey,

I've only been having this issue the last 2 weeks specially on PC BF games, my internet shouldn't have changed at all and I've tried EVERY single troubleshooting method on all the many threads of this issue. The only fix for me has been after like an hour or so, it'll work for a while, then give me the error for a while. A month ago I'd never have this issue.

Are you sure there's nothing happening during origin/EA online updates that could be causing issues for people? I feel a bit cheated buying Premier, only to be locked out of some EA games for a while everyday. When I'm in game, I'm getting a 10 ping in UK servers and have no issues.

If you feel you've exhausted all options over these forums I'd recommend reaching out to our Live-Support team so they can dig a little deeper into this with you. We want to make sure you're getting your entire use out of being an Origin Access Premier member.

Changing the DNS servers have fixed it for players.

I’m having the same issue on PS4 and have tried everything below individually and in combinations, none of it has fixed the problem which started with the February patch that came with the Hannut operation (think it was late Feb):

    1. Reset router
    2. power cycle PS4 for 15 mins to flush the cache
    3. Delete system data for BF5
    4. restore licences
    5. uninstall and reinstall the game
    6. changed my DNS settings
    7. Put my PS4 I. The DMZ on my home network (essentially super port forwarding where all traffic directed to the PS4 is let through with no scrutiny).

nothing has been a permanent fix, the only ‘work around’ is that I have to delete the BF5 system data EVERY TIME I want to play the game but that means playing the opening cinematic mission every time and changing all of my settings back to the way I like them... EVERY TIME. I have no issues with any other game, nothing about my network has changed to cause this issue, I use a wired connnection that regularly gets ~30Mbps down and ~3 up. I love this game, I enjoy playing it but I have to go through this routine every time it,any, as soon as I close the game down I will have to delete the data the next time I want to play, even if that is a matter of seconds later (yes, I have tried that!).

i suspect this isn’t affecting a significant proportion of the player base but the fact remains that for those it is affecting, the game is broken, maybe not unplayable but certainly not the experience I payed for. I have spoken to online help 4/5 times and I the last advisor I spoke to said he would log it as a fault that needing fixing, that’s all well and good but I have heard nothing and would at least appreciate knowing whether or not this is being looked at.

  • I've did the same i even had nbn tech check our line it's checked out fine except our down load speed and upload speed has dropped but the ping or the lantacy hasn't  changed we get 31 down load and 13 up load or ping is between 10 and 12 but what gets me i can on 50+ cod games straight away i all so love bfv been playing since bf3 but im really thinking trading or my bf games whats worse i payed $130 australian for it ea or dice don't give * its like when i was having problems with bf4 when first released i left feedback on the problem with the game i said what do you expect it's bf4 same * different day im over it

Well, I’ve now tried absolutely everything I can after restoring my PS4 to factory settings and reinstalling the game, no luck with that either, and I was really looking forward to firestorm...

It's been a while and the issue hasn't changed, I've tried the things you mentioned here + any more recent ones people have said. But usually there's just 20minute periods where I can't join new servers, I could stay in one forever but soon as I leave I have to wait ages.

For once today, I just can't join at all after an hour of trying (which during that time I've been trying as many troubeshooting methods as I can). There's been too many times where friends want to play but I have to wait or just waste time for a while and not even play, it's getting harder to come back to the game. No other game on my PC has had this issue, only specifically BFV and BF1 (apex has been fine).

    My ISP is BT

If you've been having trouble connecting for this long we advise getting in touch with an EA Advisor at our Help site or Twitter so they can take a closer look on how your connection reaches our servers. It's unfortunate to hear all the steps here haven't been getting rid of that delay in between games. Let's get you back on the battlefield as soon as possible.
