@REMREM45 lol i just posted the same issue :D the compatibilitiy mode set to windows 8 fixes the problem for me but i noticed like ~10-15fps less due to that compatibility mode. start as Admin aswell.

I noticed that all of the system which have this issue are using both AMD CPU and AMD GPU. I hope this will help.
@EA_Atic Same problem here, I use intel with rx 5600 xt. I could identify that it fails in dx12 mode when putting dx11 does not fail but the performance drops a lot almost 25fps
I am having the same problem. As soon as I try to zoom the weapon the game freezes and then crashes back to the desktop. I am running a 4K PC. With AMD 2700 CPU (water cololed) and AMD Radeon VII and an 800 watt PSU. Storage drives is a Samsung NVME at 1TB. I am running Windows 10 Pro build 18363.

Nope. EA people asking the same tired questions: post a DXdiag. Or check this or that.....it is an AMD system related problem. Which means it is up to EA/Dice to fix it.

Looks like EA is busy making new bugs in bf 2042.
But here's something that worked for me: Run the game as admin and set compatibility for Win8. And now M3 IR will stop crush your game.
- I will ask timidly if you are going to finally fix this error I remind you that we have October 2021 and the error is from summer 2020. I understand that everyone is focused on BF2042 which is an alpha version anyway, but still someone could understand it. Until you fix this error, you won't find a client for the next BF in me 🙂
- @r3dthr3at Can anyone else confirm that is the same case with them - its still a problem with me. The main issues is AMD hardware, EA do not optimizes for it, if it was Nshitia it would be fix'd right a way.
14/10/2021 - Not fixed. No any kind of updates for BF5. P.s more laggy servers recently. - @GilesHuang-CN Not both. as far as I can see limiting factor to this bug to occur, is having amd card in range of rx 4xx to rx 5xxx and any amd card between those [radeon VII for example].

the bug is presented also on RX6000 series... together with stupid DXR bug since 21.5.2
Using DX11 is shooting in your own leg...- @MoonUtonight It's 2022 now and this still hasn't been fixed

Battlefront 2 had same issues with DX12 on Nvidia side .
Quality control does not exist , bug fixes forget it . play the game has it is and buy more junk from EA And here we are one year later, 2023 and STILL the bug exists.
As soon as I raise the rifle to use the scope the whole game crashes and exits.
Even when switching to DX11 beforehand.....
Yeah, five years and still the same bug exist. They don't give a * about quality, five years and still bugs, cheaters, bf server crashes, EA platform serwer crashes. Never again games from EA.
