Hello. You need to press the button for switching weapons twice to get to the pistol. Then you can reload it and use it. Its like when you switch from weapon 1 to weapon 2 but then you need to press the switch button twice to get to the pistol. Thats what i figured out on the ps4. So just press the switch weapons button twice really fast. Hope this helps you out! Let me know if it worked!
