Re: Playing the intro over and over again.

Hey @zrobmikanapke,

Thanks for all the information you provided.

Instead of just deleting the Settings folder in Documents, have you tried changing the "PROFSAVE_tmp" file name to just "PROFSAVE" and re-launching the game?

Let us know if this works for you.

Thanks 🙂

Hi and thanks for the answer. That doesn't work for me either.

@zrobmikanapke Try disabling cloud saves for BF5 to see if that is the issue. It's almost like there's a disconnect and it can't see that you completed the intro.

  • @ragnarok013 I've had Cloud Savings toruned on. I turned it off and there's no change at all, game is just starting as always. So unfortunately this doesn't help either.

Anyone have different idea? I've literally tried everything I could find on the internet and here. Many thanks

I actually tried that but whenever you launch the game it generates a PROFSAVE_tmp file and uses that as the game's settings, ignoring the PROFSAVE file that i renamed before. So whenever you relaunch the game it deletes the PROFSAVE_tmp file and replaces it with a new one, reseting all of your settings and replaying the prologue. (the game's progress isn't affected at all just the settings reset) Idk man its so annoying and it keeps happening since i bought the game (4/1)

  • @savaskos Yup, same here. You'd think it's not a problem but man, after a week or so I get annoyed by this only by thinking about doing the intro again.

Sad side for this, imo, is that EA won't repair this in the first place because a small % of players are affected by this issue. I really hoped it will get repaired with the latest patch but it didn't and I'm quite dissapointed.

But I still hope for some help here so keep that answers coming 🙂 Thanks.
  • Hello all,

I've managed to deal with the issue by myself. If anyone with 'strange' symbols or letters (basically the ones that are not in english vocabulary) in your UserName had this problem, you have to delete this letters or change your UserName. Mine was Michał and I changed it to Michal (I'm Polish). The problem is when you're using Windows 10 because you have to create a new Windows account, log in there and then you can edit the folder name. You must edit the registry too. Just search the web for 'changing user name in win 10' on google and you'll be good.

So BF5 don't 'see' TEMP file in BF5 folder in Documents because the game can't read non english letters. That's my best explanation, sorry 😛

In my opinion EA should take care of this problem because it is very frustrating and makes the game not enjoyable.

    Take care

    Michał
