Server Browser for BFV on PS4 showing no or incorrect ping For my region

Product: Battlefield V
Platform:Sony Playstation 4
Please specify your platform model. Sony PlayStation 4 Pro
Are you using any software with an overlay? No
Which part of the game is the issue happening in? Multiplayer
Which part of the mode? Any game mode
Please select your region North America

On which server did this happen? All North American servers
When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm) 03/01/20

Summarize your bug:
For the past week, right around patch 6.2, whenever I go into my server browser for BFV on my ps4 pro, it sometimes defaults to Europe region and I have to select manually the North American region, even after selecting the correct region both NA server types (east and west) show poor ping, 3 to 2 bars. Once in a game my ping is anywhere from 80 to 175. Previously within the server browser I would get 5/4 bars of ping for North American servers. In game 33 to 70 ping. The issue usually started around 8 est, now today it started in the afternoon est. My internet is fine, other games like MW work fine, great ping etc. Strange thing it usually correct itself after a few hours, not today though. If anything this issue is getting worst, I can no longer play the game online. I’ve contacted isp and they’re claiming it’s not on their end. I did a trace route and ping test, no packet lost to ea servers. I will post those results. Is anyone else experiencing this? If so how did you correct it, what steps did you take? Thank you

How often does the bug occur?
Occasionally (10% - 49%)

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? It’s not possibly a bug but a server issue and my EA account.
What happens when the bug occurs? Server browser ping in my region is poor, this is then reflected in game with poor ping as well. Also if I exit the game or restart my PS4 pro, and go back in the ping display within the server browser for my region is greyed out. Blank. Yet my ping in game is still higher then normal. This doesn’t occur as frequently though.

What should be happening instead? Ping readings displayed in server browser and in game should be a lot lower for my region

    Hi @jrcusson75

That's definitely weird. It almost sounds like the game thinks you're in a different location.

Let's try running through some troubleshooting to see if we can help out with this. I'd recommend starting off with the basic connection troubleshooting steps from the EA Help website. If it's still happening after that check out the PS4-specific steps as well. Let me know how that goes when you have the chance.

    Thanks!

So I went through all the troubleshooting steps. The only things I came across that could pose a problem was my Nat type was Type 2, not 1.

My ports on my modem, have nothing being forwarded. Should I forward ports specially for bfv. My UPNP is on. Dmz is off on my modem.

Again when I went on to play, the server browser defaulted to Europe. I closed out the game only to get the same region but with the ping greyed out. Turned off PS4, that correct the issue for one match but shortly afterwards, my ping increased even within NA servers. It’s like I was put back into a different region. At this point in time the issue is occurring so often I can’t even get into a match with network icons showing up on my screen.

This was posted to the games Trello board a few weeks ago. I wonder if this applies to the server browser as well.

    @jrcusson75

That's a good question. I'll forward up your details to the team to add them to this investigation. It sounds like it could be part of the same issue they're tracking.
