Setting "undergrowth quality" to "low" is basically wallhacking on Twisted Steel

Product: Battlefield V
Platform:PC
Please specify your platform model. PC
AMD or Nvidia Model Number 1070 TI
Enter RAM memory size in GB 16
Which part of the game is the issue happening in? Multiplayer
Which part of the mode? Conquest
Please select your region North America
On which server did this happen?
When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm)
Summarize your bug Setting "Undergrowth quality" to "Low" is basically wallhacking on Twisted Steel, or any maps with lots of grass on PC.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Have a player hide behind some tall grass/bushes on Twisted Steel, and toggle the Undergrowth setting between "Ultra" and "Low"
What happens when the bug occurs? If you prefer ultra settings and beautiful visuals, some try-hards will easily spot you amongst bushes and grass if they deliberately set undergrowth value to low in video settings. This is a massive unfair advantage on PC. Because the undergrowth can be much thicker on ultra settings, low settings removes way too much.
What should be happening instead? Please change so "low" undergrowth settings is at least like "medium", and doesn't yield such a massive advantage.

It's not a great game experience when someone you can't see behind undergrowth cover... obliterates you because they don't see the same cover.

  • Yes this is a major problem as i am constantly getting shot while trying to hide and it's do to this fact. Have tried it out myself and it's like cheating. Same with smoke grenades. Somehow people have it set to be able to see through it np and i constantly get sniped in head through them. I could be marked, but smoke should remove it for anyone who has to look through it.

Yeah, stuff like this (and actual hacks) are what pushed me away from PC gaming after almost 20 years. Well, that and the fact that I'm an adult now. I hope it gets fixed for you guys.

    Cheers.

This is same in Arras map too. Basically everywhere where is tall undergrowth like in fields. Setting to low gives very unfair advantage.
