Next time this happens can you record a clip and share it here? We'd need to have the Quality Assurance team reproduce this so it would help a lot in factoring in what contributed to it leading up to the explosion.

This is just an example of it last night. As you can see while I was close there was plenty of space to move away after the strike. As the debris was well below my aircraft and my health was at 84% it does not make sense to for the health to instantly drop to 0% I have slowed the video to 0.25% the normal speed and the only conclusion I can make is that the hitbox of the aircraft must still remain in the air creating an invisible wall you cannot avoid at close distances, however this does not explain situations where the destroyed aircraft is at distances greater than 50m and yet your aircraft still explodes.
I wish I had recorded an event from 2 weeks ago when my aircraft had exploded while strafing the bridge on Twisted Steel at distance. I had killed a running solider from a distance of roughly 200m at an angle of 45° and as soon as they died I was greeted by an 'ACCIDENT' screen. I was not in a position to of been shoot by either a tank or RPG, I did not experience a lag spike and I was not under attack by either an AA or enemy aircraft. It almost seemed as though my planes health was linked directly to the enemy I had strafed.
The video was too large to upload here so please find the link to the video below

It looks like you ran into the debris from the aircraft that you were engaging with that likely led to the accident.

Slowing the footage down to 0.25% of the normal speed clearly shows the debris going down away from my aircraft pulling up. As I have said this is an issue that has plagued many people and what we have concluded is that 90% of the time we can see the dead body hit the plane and blow it up. How should a dead player have enough of a hitbox to reduce a plane from near 90% to 0%.
This also doesn't explain when you destroy aircraft at a distance greater than 50m
