Static noise when playing BF [pls help!]

Hi!

So I've resonly bought a new PC and after installing BF1 and BFV, whenever I start them up the only sound comming is a static noise. The first loading screen sound works fine, but then it starts. It follows the original gamesound, kind of like if it is underneath it. I first installed the games on my external ssd Samsung T5, and as I thought that was the problem I mooved it to the computer, but still the same problem. This does not happen anywhere else, I even tried out Dragon Age: Inquisition (also Origin and on the external ssd) and it work just fine!

Any Ideas on how to fix this would be very much appreciated!

  • I reinstalled the game on my external ssd, works perfectly now. Don't know why it didn't work the first time. But yea, reinstalling worked for me.

  • I don't know if we have the same problem, but I recorded a video about the issue: https://youtu.be/Bn9yBVI7Bak

It only does in BF game, not in other games... and it starts after the music starts on the first loading page.

EDIT - for me this was happening randomly before the new patch too.

Audio HW is Realtek ALC 1220 and I have Nahimic 3 installed on Windows 10. I also removed the files from My Documents, but this didn't help. Tried every settings in menu with no luck. Also I can confirm, that this happens now every time I launch the game after the music kicks off in the first menu. Previously it happened only in MP game randomly.

I played today Subnautica for 3 hours with no issues in it. So it has to be BF related.

Has it worked, I have the same problem with the stuttering sounds and lag spikes

  • This is happening for me too - ever since the recent update.

Super frustrating... interestingly, when I connect my Bluetooth headphones (Bose QC II), it's all fine.

Have played around with the settings also but no luck.

    Hopefully someone will solve soon!!

  • For me a game reinstall didn't help, so I started to trying out a few things with my speakers and headphone. I connected my receiver to my PC through HDMI (nvidia rtx card) and the sound issue disappeared. Then I reconnected my headphones to the motherboards Realtek card and the issue came back immediately. So I remembered that I have a sound enhancement app called Nahimic installed through Windows 10 app store. I uninstalled it (restarted PC), and the issue disappeared.

So everyone who has this problem, try to search your PC, if you have some kind of audio software installed which can interfere with the game's sound engine and then try uninstall it. 😉

Thank you so much this was the fix we needed. For whatever reason Nahimic messed up the sound and once i turned it off it worked like a charm.

Hi, @Marabou5 Your question is stuck in my mind so far that I have taken several tests to see whether I have this problem in a specific setting of sound. Unfortunately, I did not get a result to help you, but I am glad that you solved the problem and shared with us the solution
