Terrible colors on hdr, black text

Hello

I recently bought ACER Nitro VG271PBMIIPX monitor. It has VESA display HDR 400 certification. Everything is fine with it. I tested HDR in other games and it worked fine.

But then I tried battlefield 1 and 5. They look terrible. Colours are out of this world. Just look at my video

HDR slider is clearly bugged. As you can see I have trouble finding my mouse cursor because it is invisible sometimes. This is ridiculous.

Sometimes when I turn the game on or alt-tab the screen is green! Just look at these photos!

I have no idea what could be causing this. Is this windows 8.1 fault? It supports hdr in other games like andromeda or sekiro without any problems...

To be clear- game works fine without hdr. But when I set hdr to auto and my monitor switches to hdr this is what happens.

I tried changing 8bit to 12bit and opposite way in nvidia control panel but it did nothing.

  • @Piter-0803 hi there fellow player battlefield 1 is not meant for that. and battlefield v is wonky with it a lot and sometimes will bug, the game was made to process 4k and a lot of the time not color helpers or what your trying to use.

The reason was nvidia overlay with "details" filter enabled. I used it in the past on standard monitor. Disabling it solved my problems although welcome screen on bf 1 and bf 5 are too bright. The rest of the games however looks normal. Problem "solved".

I played without hdr for a while, I wanted to come back to hdr now and problem returned. I checked nvidia overlay but it is disabled. Origin overlay is also disabled. No idea what could cause it :/

When I boot my PC everything is fine:

After I launch bf 5 with hdr my screen becomes green.

After I close game it becomes washed out grey-ish and switches to 60Hz (I observe it on cursor movement, because system still says 144Hz) - overall terrible display.

Closing game and restarting monitor does not help. I have to restart PC to fix screen. Maybe it has something with new nvidia drivers for 1070 :/
