Summarize your bug I've been playing the Pacific maps a lot lately, and it seems as if I'm always being spotted. I look up only to not be able to really see any flares. It's possible that I could be spotted by a spotting scope, and most of the time it's not because I'm being suppressed or I took damage from a recon enemy with the respective Combat Roles. I eventually found out that very high up, planes will release flares which are very difficult to see. These flares should really be larger and brighter to help teammates target and destroy them. Otherwise, your team in a very wide area will constantly be spotted. I think that it would also make sense that these flares are made more obvious because planes should have larger and brighter flares than those shot from flare guns, right?
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Have an enemy plane fly at or near max altitude on say, Wake Island. Have the enemy pilot drop flares over you. Look up at the flares.
What happens when the bug occurs? The flares are tiny, hard to find especially in the thick of things, and will keep your entire team in the spotted area kept spotted too well.
What should be happening instead? The plane's flares should be made a little easier to spot.

    - This similar thing happens me almost all time, when playing maps where is airplains.

    - Those tiny spotting flares high up sky can't even see as you have said too. That's really annoying, couse you can't avoid it, not even inside tunnels or buildings. Feels like you are spotted 24/7. For simple fix, bigger and easier to see flares on the sky or max altitude where can drop them for easier to see from ground.

    - I just playd a round Wake Island and from the spawn I was spotted almost all time.

As someone who dedicates 99.99% of their gameplay to piloting, I can see where your frustration is coming from, however (and I know many infy players will hate/disagree with me here) this is just another example why pilots are an integral part of any game when used correctly.

I run a dogfighting regardless of faction which doesn't have flares but what I can guarantee my team, is that the enemy will not be up long enough to pop flares over my team. If you're unfortunately put on a team where the players in planes are using them just to farm infantry, at some point the enemy will get annoyed and shoot them down with either AAs or fighters. I'd suggest you redeploy, get into a plane yourself (or get a friend who likes to fly) and make it a mission to destroy every aircraft flying, don't focus on infantry until AFTER all the enemy aircraft are down.

This could be fixed if the flares dropped to normal altitude before deploying.

Pilots should not have this advantage with their flares.

Why should one aspect of the game ie planes require entire team focus? This is stupid.

I like yhe idea of dropping the flare to normal height but give it a broader width.

  • @aztec1289 I'm not sure what you mean by 'require entire team focus' just like with tanks I just gave a suggestion that involves one person to fly a plane with the purpose of shooting down the other aircraft....no team required at all

Yeah cause few individual players can destroy the entire enemy air and retain the ground superiority. So hence what you are refering to is a team focus to limit impact of one aspect.

  • @aztec1289 you have seen and been witness to me single handedly taking out the entire enemy teams airforce even on maps like Al Sundan on a 5 v 1.....you absolutely as a solo player take out the entire enemy air, your team on the ground can then focus on capturing objectives in peace. I know you don't like BFV and complain about it relentlessly even after telling us all you uninstalled but I believe I gave the players who actually play the game a valid suggestion on how to prevent the enemy planes from flaring and that's to shoot them down before they can 🙂

@Thyerstone it is not being always spotted it is people tweaking LOD Modifying the LOD Bios using nvidia Inspector.
Most use codes like a lod +- 3000 or less, to strip detail off everything the lod will be 0x00000078. I cannot believe they have not figured out how to fix the LOD bios problem
