Unable to send text chat messages, despite the chat window appearing.

Product: Battlefield V
Platform:PC

Which part of the mode? Airborne (Grand Operations Day 1)

Summarize your bug I can view and open the text chat window, however when I type a message and press enter the text disappears without sending. Very frustrating when trying to coordinate with team members. I have messed around with keybindings and origin overlay to try and fix the issue, without success.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Open text chat, type a message and press enter to send. In my case, pressing enter does not send the message and it disappears.
What happens when the bug occurs? Cannot send text chat messages.
What should be happening instead? I should be able to send text chat messages.

I can view the text chat window in-game and I can open the chat window and type a message, however when I press enter to send the message, the text I wrote disappears without sending. I have messed around with Origin overlay and numerous in-game settings to try and fix the issue but I have been unsuccessful.

    I resolved the issue: my ea username contained "profanity" and that prevented me from sending chat messages.

    I'm not sure what is in my name that could be considered profanity...

    sick of it, you pay a small fortune for the game, bugs all over . cannot use chat even after last update 5/12/18 try to report to   E .A. the just send you to the help page. WHICH IS NO FEKING GOOD..

    It is still a glitch. If a nick is accepted, you should be able to use the chat. What's the point of having accounts you cannot communicate with people??

    I am having the same issue. Cant type in chat but can see the chat menu. Also if i use the thank you or ask for something like medic or vehicle that works but just cant type into the chat.

    i have this issue too... cause of my name?? why would EA allow it in the first place than.
