Unbinding the console key (~): Can we do this?

I would love to un-bind the Console Key (~).

I find that in game, I have a tendency to hit this at the MOST inconvenient times.

I don't really use the console at all, so re-binding it to another key would be fantastic.

If someone can tell me how I can do this, please let me know, since I can't seem to find a way to do it in Key-bindings.

    @Rob_P53 Hello,

    As far as I know it's impossible to unbind the ~ key as it is a default key for access to the console and this was made on the engine level. So, you can't do anything on your part.

    Given that the console key binding setting isn't there in the settings, there isn't any way to assign the console to another button on the keyboard. You could reassign some functions that use keys near the console key(~) to keys away from that key to reduce the likelihood of you pressing the ~ key by accident.

    They can add an option to disable it in the menus...would take like 5 minutes to code.

    The number of times I've died because i accidentally hit the console button is ridiculous.
