I can confirm that this bug is still present in 6.0. It has not been fixed.
DICE Team@EA_AticI was not aware that the skin itself is locked to the character model as well. I have just discovered this.
For fun, I was only using female character models - in the beginning, that attracted a lot of shittalk from others, which I found hilarious - and while the British and Germans have six female character models each, it wasn't an issue. However, the Americans and the Japanese only have three Japanese character models, and I was only using two of the American ones (since I completely missed the third one), skins would be mirrored for two classes, and just one for the Japanese, since I was using all three models there.
Is locking the skin to the character model intentional? If so, I'm quite happy to mark this as "solved" - in so far as it's not a bug and I'm just stupid.
