@Strahlung-Alpha What might help as well is to stick with your wingman. Some of them won't help you out, but a great many others will watch your back. Don't be afraid to stick near any of your team mates sitting on AA guns too.
Also, some maps on Breakthrough don't have enemy planes up at the same time you're flying, which can be a massive help. I can't remember all of the but Al Sudan at least only has US planes in the second sector (and possibly the third too. It's been a while since I've played).
