why does it happen and how can I stop it, subject crosshairs

Find this happen more on sniper weapons than any other weapons. I aiming through the scope, I line up my crosshair on an player. I am about to fire until a second player runs or walks by and my cross...

That's auto aim kicking in - by lowering auto rotation and things like uniform soldier aiming, you should negate the problem

@TTZ_Dipsy It is aim assist but this is the slow down assist causing this. One of the best additions to this game is the ability to tone this down so this is less of a problem.
