Why is there hit mismatches

Ok haven't played for a while but I've been with the franchise since BF2 and am playing BF5 getting ready for 2042.

The problem is we have noticed on some games we dominate almost too easy and others we are made of paper.

So we decided to get on opposite teams with identical weapons & gear.

And one team gets 1 hit kills and the other takes 3 or more hits to kill.

All things equal all hits head shots etc.

Is this still ping & latency?

I have a wired connection, Xbox 1x with Elite 2 controller thru Spectrum cable TV service with a mid grade network performance package.
