Dynasty Rivalry Scheduling Logic

Summarize your bug Can a protected rivals option be added to the custom conferences options? I first noticed it in a dynasty at Missouri where I set the SEC to 9 conference games and Arkansas wasn’t on my schedule. I flipped around to some of the other schedules and found there were other rivalry games not getting scheduled such as specifically Florida St-Miami and Tennessee-Alabama. Later on in my dynasty I noticed years that Texas-Oklahoma and Alabama-Auburn didn’t play. I’ve also played around with other conferences, adding UCF and USF to the same conference and them not getting scheduled against each other. Allowing users to set protected rivals would eliminate this issue. Thank you.

What happens when the bug occurs? Rivalry games aren’t played
What do you expect to see? Rivalry games that are protected by the conferences actually played every year in dynasty

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Run a dynasty and see what annual rivalry games aren’t played.
What happens when the bug occurs? Yearly conference rivalry games aren’t played.
What do you expect to see? Annual rivalry games such as the Iron Bowl, Red River, FSU-Miami, etc. scheduled and played every year as they are and will continue to be in real life.

    I have this same exact problem in my auburn dynasty where 3 years in a row I haven’t played Alabama at all and every other year I get to play Georgia. Giving a custom feature to set protected rivalries in conferences should definitely be looked into. No iron bowl in 3 years makes me want to put down dynasty.

    ok a crappy work around, but it works. Set conferences to divisions. Make sure those teams are together, example Big Ten - Old East Conf w/Oho State Michigan or SEC EAST and West to ensure Bama and GA play each other. I set it to only 1 more conf required game than the total number in division. This seems to have worked in my limited testing. Ohio State // Michigan kept the last game of the season each time as well.

    Summarize your bug No protected rivalries when setting custom conferences. Rivalry games get moved throughout the season or are eliminated altogether, even when both teams in a rivalry remain in the same conference.
    How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
    Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? move teams in custom conference feature and observe generated conference schedules
    What happens when the bug occurs? rearranging teams into custom conferences eliminates annual protected rivalries. as Wisconsin, reverting to a 14-team B1G resulted in: -no Wisconsin-Iowa game in Y1 or Y2 -no Michigan-Ohio State game in Y1 or Y2 -no Wisconsin-Minnesota game in Y2 among likely other similar scheduling errors (I didn't check every team)
    What do you expect to see? Protected rivalries should remain in conference scheduling or be toggleable. it's ridiculous in the context of college traditions that rivalries played annually for 100+ years aren't baked into the system. players shouldn't have to revert to divisional scheduling to guarantee games against their top 1-2 rivals.

    Yes, this is a big issue. Any conference customization removes the preset protected rivalries in the game. Also, the Dynasty Setup screen voiceover actually mentions setting protected rivalries, although this option is nowhere to be found. This makes me believe the option was planned but not completed - hopefully they can add this in an update.

    I usually make divisions in my conference so I can play all my rivals or most every year.
