No Coin toss???

I’ve realized that every game I play there’s no coin toss and the game reverts to whatever settings I set in preferred choice game settings (ex I set it to receive first and kick against the wind). When I tried to change this in pre game settings to give the opponent the ball first it still let me receive first. And when I say every game I mean dynasty mode and literally every game I’ve played since buying the game. Is this a glitch or am I missing something?
