Played this game years ago (2004) with Custom Teams. All four of us on the same OG xbox had THE MOST FUN we've ever had on a sports game.... We all grew up, had kids... My son has loved football his whole life, and we're SU football season tx holders (go orange!) We played 3 seasons of NCAA 2010 on PS3 together, and it was just as thrilling, even with just the U and CLemson. (He beat Natty year 1 on a Santonio Holmes type catch, and whooped me EVERY year after.) Well, after that fun debacle, I realized that madden/ncaa had kinda passed me by and went onto different vidya game paths...
FFwd to last year, and we heard that NCAA was back, we all made plans to buy a new up to date console, create teams, as we had heard that the features from 2014 were going to be on-board, bringing back TB. Hyped, i started gathering images to set teams up, as we wanted to do an entire CONFERENCE of teams. So yea, we learned A) you gotta have XBOX live, and that's a given if you want to grab internet files for your device... Fine, nbd. But then the NO OFFLINE TB TEAMS things rears its ugly head... FINE, my son is going to move out in the next couple years, I prolly gotta upgrade MY console, even though he just upgraded HIS. So now we BOTH have series S consoles, AND the NCAA title purchased 2x. I've had two tvs mounted in the front room since i bought the place, so this should be fun, even with the shock of the investment...
Then i started playing TB games... The game itself feels good, looks good, players run naturally, but it only resembles football... It's really a RNG. The holding flags that are thrown before the play is even developed. The ROUGHING THE KICKER that occurs nearly EVERY TIME when I'm clearly setting my team up in SPECIAL TEAMS > RETURN RIGHT. The massive glitches in presentation. The oversights of Chris Fowler calling SYRACUSE 'The OrangeMEN' (not their nickname anymore) The fact that you CANNOT replace the first alphabetically listed team in ANY conference without creating a bunch of weird scheduling issues. (Also, custom schedules in NORMAL dynasty are also really screwed up, as well) The Rampant presentation issues that omit TB teams from nearly EVERYTHING immersive. Oh, and the crash that happened WHEN I FINALLY WHOOPED MY SON IN THE BIG12 championship, only to have the game crash with 35 seconds left, when we're in the SAME ROOM, on two identical xboxs, hardwired directly into fiber optic internet.
One day i wanted to make an index of every error and glitch i found in the game, and started writing stuff down when it happened... I filled out two whole pages front to back in 3 hours. None of this will be fixed in THIS game... This was a beta test for 2026 and a cash grab... Settle in, and just try to mess with the sliders to make it semi enjoyable...(Warning you now, i changed the HOLDING PENALTY slider +5 points and it resulted in 10 (TEN!) total holding penalties in ONE HALF for my son)
