It's definitely greed, but I'm not entirely sure of the angle, since it's not EA's subscription service. I figure either they get some kickback from Sony/Microsoft for people signing up to their subscriptions or they figure everyone will buy the game this year and then again when they announce their "new" feature to be able to use Teambuilder in offline dynasties in a future year. It won't work on me - they will have lost all of my trust (and all future business from me) if they don't make it right this year. If we keep paying for this sketchy behavior every year, they'll have no reason to start acting ethically. And if it is some technical limitation (which is hard to believe since you can use Teambuilder offline for Play Now), they need to tell us, otherwise we'll have to assume it's entirely about screwing us for a little more money.
It’s the same reason why they only let you do was it up to 32 teams? It’s because if you did a completely full set of team builder teams you’d never buy another copy for two or three years and I’m one of those people that if I’m able to, reshape college football the way I want it. I wouldn’t buy a copy for a couple years until I fixed out all that bugs and issues that were wrong with this one.
